Delighted to pick up these two pieces for the collection this week. Firstly, the T. K. Kirby of Chichester impressed ginger beer. The thin lip would suggest a date of around 1860. There are less than a handful known of these which makes it a really cracking addition!
Secondly, the Astons ‘cold cream’ pot lid. Astons were probably the biggest chemist in Worthing, but surprisingly not that many of these lids are known, probably a couple of dozen or so.
There were many other chemists in Worthing which produced printed lids for creams, balms & toothpaste. I’m always keen to see what is out there, so message me if you have any old Sussex bottles or pot lids! Thanks. H
