Every great space starts with a vision... at Nest it begins with a moodboard! ✨

For .co_norton , that vision was rooted in the Swedish ritual of 'fika' which is all about taking time to pause, connect, and enjoy the moment.

We set out to capture Scandinavian calm and bring it to life in a North East café & restaurant setting. Soft neutral tones, natural finishes, and a sense of community.

The result? A warm, welcoming interior that blends modern café design with the hygge-inspired comfort of Scandinavian living, a place to slow down, share coffee, and feel at home. 🌿☕

We’re so excited to reveal the full project when Fika&Co officially opens on 2nd October 2025 – eeeek! 🎉

At Nest, we design spaces that reflect more than just a look – they tell a story. With our upcoming project for .co_norton nearing completion, that story was all about the Swedish ritual of slowing down, connecting & sharing.

Here are some of our top tips and tricks for achieving a Scandinavian design...

🛋️Simplicity & Functionality: Clean lines, minimal clutter, and designs that prioritise purpose.

🍃Natural Materials: Wood, stone, linen, wool, and organic finishes that connect indoors with the natural world.

🧘🏼‍♀️Neutral Tones: Soft whites, beiges, and greys, paired with grounding greens and earthy accents.

☀️Light & Space: Maximising natural light is a cornerstone, creating airy, welcoming interiors.

A closer look at the bespoke bookcase and sunken seating we designed for our co-working office project… ❤️

Bespoke joinery is key in commercial interiors, it allows us to maximise every inch of space and tailor it to the needs of the end user.

For this project, we created a custom bookcase wall with integrated sunken seating, designed to act as the perfect comfortable yet functional breakout zone ☁️

Every bespoke piece we design is supported by a detailed spec pack, including elevations, material breakdowns, so you know exactly what to expect before it goes into production. ✨

We were tasked with creating a full concept for a new co-working space right in the heart of Leeds. The goal? A flexible, functional, and inspiring environment that supports all kinds of working styles.

The design needed to include:

👩🏻‍💻 Dedicated zones for solo and collaborative work
🚪 Open design
☁️ Comfortable breakout areas
☕️ Cafe for food and hot drinks
🍴 Dining space
