When you unpack and sort through a supplier order and wonder why the heck there are a couple of pairs of underpants in your order! 🤣 I never ordered any underpant shapes!

Any idea what they might actually be?

Good morning and happy Friday!

The return to school has not been the smoothest, I won’t bore you with that but let’s just say I’m glad it’s Friday!

I thought I’d kick off my return to socials with a new piece that was made for an amazing teacher who has helped the little one that gave her this gift so much so he wanted something really special for her. As a language and music teacher who plays the saxophone we thought this was pretty perfect. With a gorgeous colour scheme chosen by the little one himself I hope it made her realise just how special she is.

šŸ‘‹ Hello! I don’t know if anyone will see this as I’ve been absent for a good while now but I’m still here. The girls are both back to school and college and after a little time sorting my desk out I’ve been painting for an hour and I am loving being back with my brushes! Pip is doing a lot better, still waiting for more tests but is definitely on the road to recovery (touch wood!)

I know I’ve been a bit distracted with Pip being poorly but I am hoping life will continue to feel a little calmer now and I will get lots of painting time. To those who have ordered from me and been so patient I want to say thank you, I will be working as quickly as I can to get your pieces painted and to those who have been so supportive thank you for your kind words, for checking in and for just being brilliant.

I’ll be back again soon with my usual ramblings and maybe some new pieces that I made before life got turned upside down in July. I also need to do a big album update on FB and maybe start cataloguing my work on instagram in some way (no idea how it would work yet).

For now I am only open to orders that aren’t needed before the Christmas season including gifts you may want to give for Christmas so it doesn’t necessarily have to be festive in theme. I’m going to miss painting autumnal pieces but I may share a few of my faves anyway 🄰.

I hope you’ve all been doing ok while I’ve been very out of the loop. Let me know what you’ve been up to as I’ve missed hearing from my lovely friends on here.

Morning and welcome to a new week. Any plans for the week ahead or the same old same old?

Gearing up for Christmas here means one messy job needs doing. Paint stock check and clean up.

Can you guess the colour I need the most of that is used all year round but especially at Christmas?

One month since life felt normal but things are definitely better than they were.

I’ve been trying to squeeze in proper creative time over the last couple of weeks and I have had some time at my desk to work on orders but not as much as hoped as Pip has had a little blip in her progress but thankfully nothing major. There are more possible conditions to be investigated now though so that’s going to mean even more tests etc than we initially thought. Hopefully now though life will settle down a bit more which means I’ll get more proper time working šŸ„°šŸ¤ž.

In the meantime to keep my mind from spiralling in the odd quiet moments I’ve been having a doodle on some tiny log slices I’ve had in my craft box for a little while. I can also see little mandalas, wreaths and holly leaves on these. What little motifs do you think would look cute and would you hang these on your tree? (I need to drill holes in them all but wish I’d done that first šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤£.

(Mixed media with acrylic craft paint, pencil crayon and posca pens).

Morning and hello Tuesday!

I’ve not posted a Tuesday toot for a while so I thought I’d change that with a little shout out for two fantastic local businesses who helped me make Buttons birthday cakes this year.

The amazing Lynne at Goose Feather made the amazing cake topper for her birthday cake and the wonderful Sam at Sugar & Sprinkles printed me the icing topper for the party cake.

Without them my cakes would definitely not looked as good and I am hugely grateful to them both for their wonderful customer service and quality of work. I’ll definitely be back for more in future!

Hello and happy Saturday!

I’ve been very quiet for obvious reasons as life is still a bit odd but Pip is improving every day and also learning when to slow down which is guiding us with what we do each day. We’ve also had Buttons birthday, her party and our anniversary so life has been quite busy but full of good things. 🄰

Today though I happened to be on Facebook scrolling and these magnificent rainbow packing peanuts were on offer on our local freecycle page and from a lovely lady who lives just round the corner from us so I am chuffed to bits to have been given them šŸ˜. There’s a fairly big box of them so who knows your next order may be protected by a sprinkling of rainbow squishiness! They are also the environmentally friendly type that dissolve in water so brilliant for the environment as they won’t be hanging around for years and years!

I’m hoping to be back posting soon but I’m taking this last weekend to really get back on top of everything and allow me to have a nice calm holidays with the girls and Mr PBMP when he gets the odd day off 🄰.

Good morning,
Long time no post and it’s a long one so grab a cuppa!

So I thought I’d pop on to explain why I had to shut my order books so suddenly in case any of you thought I was dramatic enough to close them due to a flooded kitchen 🤪.

On Tuesday morning Pip (our eldest) had to be collected from college as soon as she had arrived there due to an unexplained severe shortness of breath. After urgent care assessment and many tests/scans she was admitted for a submassive pulmonary embolism as she had blood clots on both lungs and her heart was under a huge amount of stress as a result. Thankfully with bed rest, medication and monitoring she was discharged after 6 nights and is now taking it very very easy at home, taking blood thinners to prevent any more clots occurring and waiting for the existing clots to dissolve as well as waiting for thorough investigations to find out why this all happened to her.

Obviously I’ve been very much distracted from work but I am proud to say that despite spending 7 days and 6 nights in hospital with her (photo shows my feet up in my ā€œbedā€.) I still managed to get my teacher orders finished and posted in time for everyone with one remaining that will be posted today.

I will get back to painting before too long but am keeping my books closed to anything but festive orders or pieces that aren’t needed until Christmas (maybe gifts) as at present my priority is Pip and also Button as it’s the summer holidays and she’s had a scary old week or so as well. My painting keeps me happy and calm so all of the wonderful orders I currently have to work on are appreciated more than I can say.

Thank you to everyone who messaged me to check if I was ok when I first restricted orders to Christmas only and to everyone who has helped in many ways over what has been the worst week too. It can be lonely being a solo small business owner who wears all of the hats but I am very lucky to have such a gorgeous group of supportive people looking out for me.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I am closing my books to orders other than Christmas orders that are not needed immediately. My birthday celebration discount offer remains in place until Thursday night and I will reply to all queries/order requests as soon as possible.

Any orders that have been discussed or placed will be carried out as requested so please don’t worry if you have been planning new pieces with me or if you are waiting for a piece to be painted I will get them done as soon as I can.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello from this smiley little dude, can you see him?

As a contrast from the football win this morning that left Mr PBMP very happy we have had a leak on our dishwasher. So the kitchen is a bit soggy under the units etc. thankfully and hopefully an easy replacement job of a hose (when we get it) but a bit of a naff start to the week.

As a result we’ve not got much work done but we will be working our socks off this afternoon while the dehumidifiers do their best to dry it all out šŸ¤ž.

I hope your day is going significantly better than mine and you’re having a good day whatever you’re up to!
