Donnie is on the move again! We've been quiet on here the last month or so, but today we're hanging out in Reykjavík, chilling in the snow and basking in the glow of Rainbow Street. We popped in to visit the Handknitting Institute of Iceland as well, will be leaving the country with Icelandic yarn.

✨ Yes, I know it’s “still” only November…
…but we’re now more than halfway through, and Donnie* (bless him) is getting excited — and honestly, I’m not going to be the one to break his little heart.

He’s excited for a couple of reasons:

🧵 More Advent Calendars are flying out to members of the flock all around the world — which is always amazing to see.

🎁 There’s still time to get yours in time for the start of Advent!
Everything is made, wrapped, and ready to post — and US orders go DDP, so no surprise customs fees for my US flock.

We are now officially into low-stock territory in several areas:

✨ Only 2 of the mixed resin & metal Advent Calendars left
✨ Several fabric/marker combos are nearly gone
✨ And only 4 of the “12 Days of Christmas” half-calendars remain — that’s 12 full days of surprise stitch marker fun!

If you’ve been on the fence, or gently putting it off, this is your moment before your favourite combination disappears for the year.

Honk if you need a sign — this is it. 🪿💛

So today is World Diabetes Day, and as someone who is working their way through year 17 of living with Type 1 Diabetes, this day always gives me a little pause for thought.

The symbol you'll see a lot in Diabetes Awareness Month is the blue circle, which represents unity and connection. If you don't know this about me, I love a good Venn Diagram — and diabetes and craft are two ‘circles’ of my life that have a surprising amount of overlap. Many of my favourite people I’ve met through Type 1 are also crafters. And so many crafters I’ve got to know turn out to have their own connections to diabetes.

Maybe you're on day 1 of your diabetes journey. Maybe you're on day 101. Maybe you've lost count of the days, as so many of us have — but wherever you are on your path, whether you're Type 1, Type 2, LADA, MODY, gestational or any shade of diabetes, I want you to know something:

This is tough. You are tougher.
And if you haven't yet found your ‘tribe’, believe me — they are out there waiting for you. You are not alone.

So on this 14th of November, as a tiny nod to both parts of this Venn Diagram, I'm offering 14% off Regular Goose Stitch Marker Advent Calendars for today only.

Hugs, high fives or fistbumps (whatever you prefer) to all of you, whether you're connected to diabetes or not. If you're reading this, you're already an awesome person and I appreciate you more than you know. 💙🪿

Hot take, and maybe it’s just me, but assessing competitors on their crochet skills in a show looking for Britain’s Best Knitter doesn’t quite sit right with me. 🤔

You don’t ask Usain Bolt to prove he’s the fastest man alive by throwing a javelin, do you? 😉

And that’s coming from someone who learned knitting first and is still learning to crochet (and still thinks it’s some kind of magical witchcraft!) — so I have nothing but respect for both crafts and the skill each takes. 🧶💚

That said, some of those dog outfits really were iconic — and while I’ve never made iconic dog jumpers, I have made dog jumpers for an iconic dog. 🐾💚

Here’s Kenzo — Outfoxed Designs resident gentleman — modelling his handmade look from a few years back. A distinguished old man who knew exactly how long he was willing to wear it… just long enough for his photo. 🪿✨

What did you think of this week’s Game of Wool challenge?

I’m sure I’m not the only one who was knitting along while catching up on The Game of Wool! 🧶 (Gloves for me, if you’re wondering! Smooshing together a glove and mitten pattern for gloves with little flaps!)

I was overjoyed to see Isaac’s Fair Isle tank top striving for goose representation — a true kindred-spirit moment. Isaac, you’re welcome in the flock any time. 🪿💛

And if, like me, you felt the gentle dread of those tangled colourwork yarns… keep your eyes peeled here over the next week or two. There just might be something launching that feels like a warm, cosy hug for your yarn. 😉✨

Sometimes you forget how far you've come from where you started and you need a visual reminder. So here we go. Every single bead in that jar represents an item sold since Regular Goose burst onto the scene in 2023.

There are currently 2214 beads in that jar, and I value each and every one in there, because each one represents a person who saw value in my silly little brand and trusted me enough to part with their hard earned money. I never, ever forget how important that is.

Whether you're a bead in that jar, or a cheerleader from the sidelines, you are amazing and you'll always be a part of the Regular Goose flock. Thank you. Truly.

By the end of the year, I would love to get this page more visible, so if you know any fledgling goslings that you think would love what I do, I would appreciate you guiding them here.

Believe me, I am gearing up with some really fun product development in the background and it's going to be an exciting 2026.

As always, live, laugh, honk.

You don’t know the life of a Show Goose… 🪶✨ (but she’s been busy!)

Between photo shoots, parcels, and a flock of advent calendars winging their way around the world, it’s been a busy start to the season!

A huge welcome to anyone who might have migrated this way after visiting my wonderful Bugweed's Yarn & Crafts Ltd friends at Yarndale! Whether you picked up a business card, treated yourself to markers, or played the stitch marker tombola, you're very welcome in our flock 🪿

Today's BIG IMPORTANT NEWS however, is that shipping to US customers is back! All parcels now travel via Royal Mail’s DDP service — meaning no surprise customs fees when they land. What's even better is doing my calculations, I've managed to make only minor tweaks to shipping costs, so everything still remains accesible to ask many of my goslings as possible.

Welcome to your Goose era!

🚨 Important Shipping Update for US Customers 🇺🇸

I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but due to recent import rule changes, I’ll need to pause all physical item sales to the US starting 25th August. Etsy is working on securing a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) option with Royal Mail, but until that’s in place, I won’t be able to ship to the US.

💸 Once (and hopefully when!) DDP is available, shipping costs are likely to increase significantly due to added tariffs. While I always aim to keep my prices accessible, I won’t be able to absorb those extra costs myself.

✨ Good news: Everything currently listed is in stock and ready to ship—even if the lead time says otherwise. So if you’ve been eyeing an advent calendar, sewing or crochet kit, or need to top up your stitch marker stash, this is the weekend to order!

📦 I’ll be ready to do postal runs all day Saturday to make sure your goodies are on their way before the cut-off.

If you have any questions, just drop me a message—I’m more than happy to help.

Thanks so much for your support.

All right, I might have told a little white lie the other day. I know it's August, but as detailed below, Stitch Marker Advent Calendars are now available on Etsy!

I know times aren't great for a lot of people, so I've price locked at £30.00, which is the same price as in 2023 and 2024, so these can be accesible for as many people as possible.

There were problems last year with scammers taking the listing and putting it on copycat sites. For clarity, the only place online that these calendars will be available is through Etsy ( https://regulargoose.etsy.com ). In person, they will soon be available at Bugweed's Yarn & Crafts Ltd and The Stitching Lady - watch their social accounts for more.

Last year's stock sold insanely fast, which is why these are going live earlier, with more variants and more stock. Please let me know if you have any questions at all!

Currently the craft room is absolute madness as I work on preparing for launching the full range of *cough*Christmas*cough* products at the end of the month.

But for one minute, I'm taking a break to remind myself it's still the height of summer, even if it is a bit overcast out there today!

So I thought I would share with you some zesty summer vibes for the day (apparently I was in a very lemon-heavy mood at one point).

These are part of a recent drop of a whole bunch of new marker designs as well as a bit of a refresh for the shop's look. Have a gander, let me know what you think! https://regulargoose.etsy.com
