Isn’t Brenda the sheep just the cutest! Thanks to for bringing Brenda to life. The free pattern for you to make your very own Brenda will be available to download from this year’s show guide. And kits will be in the Yarndale Shop. We’ll also add any kits left to our online shop after the show. Kits will be £17.

We’re halfway through the North Yorkshire Yarn Trail, and the fun isn’t slowing down! 🧶✨ With just one more week to go before Yarndale, now’s the perfect time to pop in, explore, and enjoy all the yarny goodness.

📅 Trail Opening Hours
🐞 Every day: 10am – 4pm
🐞 Thursdays: 10am – 9pm (late-night shopping!)
Closed on the final Sunday — you’ll find us at Yarndale instead!

There’s still plenty of time to soak up the trail atmosphere, discover new inspiration, and be part of the yarn-loving community.

🐞 FREE Creative Drop-In Sessions at Bugweed’s – Week Two 🐞

The Yorkshire Yarn Trail is still in full swing, and we’re thrilled to welcome you back for another week of free drop-in workshops here at Bugweed’s Yarn & Crafts!

Our friendly team will be guiding each session (with the occasional pause to help shoppers, of course), and you can always expect a cosy atmosphere, plenty of encouragement, and a community that celebrates every stitch.

This week’s schedule:
📅 Tue 23rd Sept — Crochet a Poppy
📅 Wed 24th Sept — Intro to Loom Knitting (10:30am–12:30pm) + Intro to Sock Knitting (1:30–3:30pm)
📅 Sat 27th Sept — Conquer the Magic Loop (10:30am–12:30pm) + Knitting Surgery (1:30–3:30pm)

No booking needed — just pop in, grab a seat, and join in! Whether you’re learning something new, seeking a bit of peace with your yarn, or need expert advice at our Knitting Surgery, there’s a spot for everyone at Bugweed’s.

Don’t forget — tomorrow (Saturday 20th September, 10:30am–4pm) we’re hosting a very special pop-up with Steffi Glaves, North Yorkshire’s own crochet jewellery artist. 🧵✨

Her delicate, floral-inspired pieces — from forget-me-nots to Yorkshire roses — are handmade with a 0.6mm crochet hook, cotton and sterling silver. Truly unique treasures you won’t want to miss! 🌈

🧶WIP Wednesday and we’re sorting out little piles of Granny Squares for a YouTube tutorial. The tutorial will guide you through joining Granny Sqaures to make a Brenda Cardigan which is one of the free patterns in this year’s Yarndale Show Guide.🧶 Not long until the show which means that there are many things in the WIP pile. It’s quite like spinning plates… or more apt is juggling balls of wool.🧶🧶🧶
