We didn’t realise this huge antique lithograph poster wasn’t on the website! It’s original early 1900s, not signed, but very much in the style of other artists of the period, such as Cecil Aldin, William Nicholson and Ludwig Hohlwein. It measures 144cm x 100cm and would have been difficult to print, which is perhaps why the printer got their fingerprints on the edges!

c1840s oil portrait of a Maria Birtwhistle. Born in 1812, she lived in the West Yorkshire area and died at the age of 60. She was buried in a shared grave with her sister Eliza, and Eliza’s family, suggesting she never married and had children of her own. From our initial research, we think there’s more of a story to uncover about her life, including a possible attempt to emigrate to America.

We know it’s not the season for quilted curtains, but these vintage curtains will not only the keep heat in, they’ll also keep the heat out! 🌞

They’re incredibly good quality and were custom made from a shop in Harrogate. They feature a very pretty Italian pictorial design, framed with a coordinating blue trim. They’re double lined with a layer of fleece, pleated with adjustable rods and have an optional matching pelmet.

We’ve just framed this large 1950s oil pastel of three red-headed dancers we found whilst we were down in London. It came from a collection of work from the 1950s by a London-based art student. On the back of the pastel is a n**e pencil sketch- most art students will likely agree that you can’t afford to waste an inch of paper!

An exceptional mid 19th century sketch book filled with humorous illustrations and witty annotations. A little later than Pride & Prejudice era, but the intelligent young lady who created this enchanting book clearly experienced a very similar lifestyle to that of Miss Bennet, socialising at grand balls whilst scrutinising and satirising the society around her.

A delightful antique collection of found objects - mostly shells of various forms, but also coral and some rocks. Nicely displayed in sections in a stained pine box. The family it came from have ancestral connections to Australia and New Zealand, which is likely where much of the collection originated from.
