Haxby Hunt update!!

We have three new drops on the Haxby Hunt. Please welcome:

Aesthetics by Carrieanne and Glamourised Hair & Beauty (check out the pumpkin nail art if you want to go all out for the pumpkin hunt!)

Oaken Grove Community Centre one of Haxby's best assets. Home to the library, youth club, Milk Box York and many more wonderful things. If the gates are closed, they will be left on the wire fences.

Placibo hair design our lovely hair dresser next door to Little Bear & Bird Flower Co. on Usher Lane.

Each business needs its own miniature ceramic, so thoughts please on what you would like our new members to adopt?

Next hunt: Halloween 6-7pm 31st October 2026 (miniature pumpkins). Thora & The Prince have had their first drop of pumpkins for those who want to buy one and guarantee a find.

No idea what I am going on about - join my page Schiewe Ceramics to find out!

Halloween workshop, sculpting and floristry, fun, fun, fun!

I love working with local businesses in Haxby, which is why I’m teaming up with Lindsay at Little Bear & Bird Flower Co. to bring you something a little different.

Join us for a unique creative workshop combining ceramics and floristry to create a spectacular Día de los Mu***os-inspired centrepiece.

You’ll begin by hand-building your own air-dry ceramic skull, exploring sculpting, texture and decorative techniques inspired by the colourful patterns of Día de los Mu***os.

Then, working with Lindsay from Little Bear and Bird Florist, you’ll create a vibrant floral arrangement using fresh flowers to complement your skull and bring your centre piece to life.

With guidance from both of us throughout the evening, you’ll get the chance to try your hand at two creative crafts and create something completely unique.

There’ll be a short, relaxing break in the middle with complimentary drinks.

Best of all, you’ll leave with your own handmade ceramic skull and beautiful fresh floral centrepiece to enjoy at home, ready for Halloween.

No previous ceramic or floristry experience needed, just come ready to get creative.

Cost: £70 per person
Location: Little Bear and Bird Florist, Haxby
When: Thursday 29th October 2026, 6pm–9pm approximately
Pre-booking is essential.

If you’d like to book a place, please drop me a message at [email protected]
