6 years ago after decades in York we moved back to our roots 3 miles from the city centre.
🧵We have always held our classes here, and it has given us room to expand our offering of everything we can connected with hand and machine sewing.
🧵Our ground floor sets out our tapestry wools and canvases, plus our framing and cushion making up and mail order.

With Christmas now down in the main rooms it is amazing what you may find..... Fabrics, threads, inspiration, ideas. From JustNan cross stitch patterns to felt appliques and kits to make up.

A taste of what is new. But be warned- Christmas is coming downstairs soon, if it hasn't already. Dressmaking will stay downstairs. Sale fabrics may leap upstairs, and peace and calm will reign! Perhaps another Weetabix for breakfast? Will the menagerie be helpful? Will Wilson or Luna the cat? ....

Have you looked at the Autumn classes yet? They are filling up now. Get on line or come into the shop.
Fran specialises in freehand machine work, working with fabrics and stitch. Do you remember the large mountain at the Sew Show? The classes are small so the content can be tailored to fit your skills and experience.

It does need to be difficult. These are all kits from the shop which could help you get started and to build up confidence and skills. And of course if you get stuck you can ask for advice in the shop or why not come to the Sit and Sew social stitching on Tuesdays or book into a class, bring your project, get help and guidance from the tutor and meet other enthusiasts!

Want something to do for the late summer? 3 things that might excite your creative muscles.
1 a new printed panel - we immediately thought of attic window patchwork but what else could be done with it?
2 stick on transfers for embroidery - would any where be safe? Jeans, jacket cuffs, sew decorative borders on curtains, hems, bunting, or table linen?
3 have you tried needle felting? You stab the fibres with barbed needles until they mesh together to make a felt. Great as stress release! All you need is in the kit

With Lynn on holiday there was no Friday Quilt group to photograph for the Sunday post, so you are left with what I am engaged on!
Do please add what you are doing in the comments...and if anyone has tried the various pens and paints available for fabrics please share....

If you can't speak tapestry, the word on the shelf is about Bank Holiday . Current thought is that the shop will be closed on the weekend but there may be hope for opening on the Monday.
Will keep you updated!

After the quick gallop, a few details you may have missed! and the escape route back to the outside world.
