6 years ago after decades in York we moved back to our roots 3 miles from the city centre.
🧵We have always held our classes here, and it has given us room to expand our offering of everything we can connected with hand and machine sewing.
🧵Our ground floor sets out our tapestry wools and canvases, plus our framing and cushion making up and mail order.
🧵Upstairs we have great rooms for all ou

r cotton quilting fabrics, needlework, beading and a whopping, light, airy classroom.

The Friday 1Quilt group in full swing! These ladies are an inspiration. The 3 hours they spend with us is full of creative energy, chat, and creative intent, chat, sewing and ....chat. all fuelled by cups of tea and biscuits. The projects are their own and Lynn is there to share her vast experience and expertise. A great afternoon.

Open today, Saturday.
A tailors ham is a densely stuffed curving shape designed to make pressing out curving seams, like armholes, sleeve heads and darts much easier. Sometimes the old ideas are still the best!

Batiks are quirky and fun. Based on traditional resist dyed techniques rather than the usual printed fabrics. Really useful for creative projects as they are patterned on both sides and don't show a white edge when cut .
