6 years ago after decades in York we moved back to our roots 3 miles from the city centre.
🧵We have always held our classes here, and it has given us room to expand our offering of everything we can connected with hand and machine sewing.
🧵Our ground floor sets out our tapestry wools and canvases, plus our framing and cushion making up and mail order.
🧵Upstairs we have great rooms for all our cotton quilting fabrics, needlework, beading and a whopping, light, airy classroom.

Embroidery? We have Zweigart fabrics, DMC and Edmar threads, scissors, needles, frames, lights......
Fabrics? We have quilting cottons and panels, and a dressmaking selection.
Beading.
Classes and workshops.
And a fabulous venue.

We had a busy day. Lots of making going on! How are your creative muscles, are they getting enough exercise? If you want inspiration try the YTA show in the cemetery chapel today- such a diverse range of creative textile art.

Fran, our freehand machining specialist, Friday person, and also guilty of writing these posts, is let out to play this weekend. The York Textile Artists are exhibiting at the gorgeous Cemetery Chapel. Demos across a range of disciplines, pop up shop and coffee! Fran is on duty on Sunday but today' s line up is really exciting.

Halloween fabrics and quick makes. Only a little time left. Make up or just throw a length over a table, cut the panel and pin to your curtains or drape on your sofa. Use to give new life to an old costume . Hair bows? Have a bit of fun with it.

It is a beautiful setting, barely shouting distance from Clifton Moor. Forget all the bustle and stresses and join us in our serene creative bubble. Stay and make or enjoy a browse and explore. York people will know why this is important, we have our own ample free parking.

Our little JustNan mouse has moments of flightiness, she needs a break from posing on her plinth. I don't think Pup was impressed but she seems to have enjoyed her tour of part of the shop. Can't really see her as a Norman knight though.

The roundel is coming together, the papers are coming off.... The border pieces are being cut, how long before that is assembled? The quilt is together, quilting and binding to do now....
So much happens on a Friday!

When you visit the shop play a little game, how many can you spot? Only bragging rights as a reward , I'm afraid
Hildegarde may have moved on from the Halloween fabrics, of course. She can be quite a flighty number!
