Although unfortunately we weren't able to launch the new Bee Meadow kit last November as planned, we hope it is worth the wait! This is one of the first ever designs I created in collaboration with Bug Art and it has been lots of fun turning it into a kit. For people who have done a few of our kits, this one has some exciting new stitches and techniques, and as well as the usual threads beads and sequins there is some beautiful variegated silk ribbon and lace to play with 😀

After a lovely maternity leave, we are excited to be back today and reopening the shop 😃
Whilst Katie is still quite little, we are going to be operating on slightly reduced hours, so have limited the number of designs we are currently offering. Hopefully there are still plenty to choose from though, and we will finally be releasing the ‘Bee Meadow’ design done in collaboration with Bug Art next week 🙌
I'm also working on a hyacinth design, although given the current limited hours of sleep I'm operating on, this may not be on the horizon for a few months yet 😅

Maternity Leave Update!
Hello 👋 I hope everybody is keeping well 😊 Apologies for the change in plan but we just wanted to let you know that I have decided to extend the maternity leave I had planned by a month, so are now planning to reopen on Mon 27th April.

We are all doing well but Katie has definitely followed in her sister’s footsteps of being a decidedly nocturnal creature so a bit more time to work on sleep and building up some stock feels like a sensible idea! Thank you for your understanding 😊

We are over the moon to welcome the newest team member of the Beaks and Bobbins gang! Katie arrived a little earlier than expected on Monday 12th Jan but is doing great and being well looked after by her big sister! We are now taking a little break until 22nd March but wish you lots of happy stitching in the meantime 😁🪡

I can't believe it was 11 years ago I stitched this for Bug Art Cards! Was such a great design to experiment with different stitches and textures 😍 Now available as an embroidery kit too!

Happy New Year!

We are back posting as usual today but just want to give a bit of advance notice to our lovely customers that I am expecting a baby at the end of January and will be taking a couple of months Maternity leave 👶 As we are a small team and it would be difficult for Mum to continue running Beaks and Bobbins single handed, I’m afraid this means that we will be closed from Fri 19th January until Sun 22nd March. The shop will be open to receive orders placed on or before Wed 17th January though (unless baby makes an early arrival!!), so if you are looking for a new project or to stock up on greeting cards, there is still chance to treat yourself 😊!

Wishing everybody a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We are having a little break over the festive period from Fri 19th December until Monday 5th Jan. The website will still be open for orders and these will be posted in the first week on January 🙂

Any orders placed before midday on Friday 19th Dec, we will make sure are posted by Sat 20th using Tracked 24 to give them the best chance of arriving in time for Christmas 🎄

After a lovely weekend away for my brother’s wedding we are super busy at Beaks and Bobbins preparing for the Harrogate Knit + Stitch Show which is now only two weeks away!

It is a wonderful event and we are very excited to be back after taking a couple of years break after having Emily.
