Defining the “NU AFROPOLITAN”

AFROPOLITANISM IMPLIES A CERTAIN TYPE OF COOL, WITH AN AESTHETIC INFLUENCED BY AFRICAN STYLE ……

Driven, urban and culturally savvy, meet the Afropolitans … --, people of African descent and or greatly influenced by African culture, with a global outlook. A generation of individuals based on the continent or in other global capitals who are emerging internationally, using African cultures in creative ways to change perceptions about Africa, ITS ABOUT CREATIVE THINKERS / PLAYERS SHAPING THE CONTINENT.

The term "Afropolitan" first appeared in a 2005 magazine article about multilingual Africans with different ethnic mixes living around the globe "NOT CITIZENS BUT AFRICANS OF THE WORLD." Now the term has spread, used not just by New York hipsters and in trendy European capitals but in Africa's own multicultural megacities.
