Today, I officially became a Canadian citizen. 🇨🇦
When my husband first told me we were moving to Canada, I remember the heaviness in my heart. Leaving behind Lebanon my home, my family, my friends, my career, and everything familiar, was one of the hardest decisions of my life. Beirut will always be a part of who I am. It shaped me, inspired me, and gave me roots I will carry forever.
But today, I look back with nothing but gratitude.
Canada gave us more than a new beginning; it gave us opportunities, growth, new horizons, and the chance to rebuild dreams in ways I never imagined. It opened doors for me personally and professionally, and allowed me to grow into the person I am today.
Most importantly, it gave my children a beautiful life filled with opportunities, safety, diversity, and the freedom to dream big. Watching them grow here while still carrying their Lebanese roots in their hearts means everything to me.
I’ve always been proud to be part of this country, long before receiving this citizenship. This passport is not an exit plan, it is a symbol of belonging, gratitude, resilience, and the life we built together.
And today, I want to give special credit to my husband. This journey started with his vision, his courage, and his belief in a future we could create together. Thank you for seeing a future I couldn’t yet see myself.
Proudly Lebanese. Proudly Canadian. ❤️🇱🇧🇨🇦
