By day six of a nine-day show, the stand is doing a job nobody specified. Most exhibition stands are specified for three days.

The finishes, the storage, the staffing plan and the spares are all sized to that. A long show does not stretch those decisions, it breaks them, and it breaks them in the same five places every time.

• 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀. Nine days of hands, bags and cleaning on every edge, counter and floor. What still reads precise on day nine was chosen for that in the materials schedule.
• 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸. Brochures, samples, water, kit. Nine days of it has to live somewhere on the stand that is not the meeting table.
• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁. Every evening the stand goes back to day-one state. That needs a person, a routine, and a lockable place for what comes off the floor.
• 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Nobody works nine days. Handover between teams needs a place to happen and a one-page brief that survives it.
• 𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. Lighting and screens on for nine days. Spares on site, and access to change them without a ladder in the aisle.

Specify the stand for the last day and the first eight take care of themselves.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀.

Every render leaves out the same three things, and none of them are decorative: the cable, the join lines, and the people.

What decides whether the built stand matches the picture:
•Tolerances written into the drawings, not assumed on site. A 3mm reveal in a render is a decision about substrate, edge treatment and who cuts it.
•A materials schedule that names finishes by product code, not by adjective. Warm oak is not a specification.
•Where the joins fall, decided at drawing stage. Panel sizes are fixed by what fits through a door and onto a truck.
•Lighting specified as fittings and positions, not as a mood in the visual.
•Who is on site on build day, and whether they drew any of it.

The render is what gets approved. The build file is what gets delivered. The gap between them is where the disappointment lives, and it is closed on paper months earlier.

A launch stage is used once, for about ninety minutes, and there is no second take.

A booth gets three days to be understood. A stage gets one run, in front of the people the whole budget was spent on, and everything that could go wrong does so in public.

What that changes in the drawings:

• Sightlines are set from every seat, not from the camera position. The camera has one angle, the room has all of them.
• The rig, the light and the strike all have to fit inside the venue’s access window, which is usually decided before the creative is.
• Cable routes, load points and access are fixed before anything is designed to look like anything.
• Finishes are chosen for how they read under stage lighting, which is nothing like how they read in a showroom.
• It has to photograph, because the ninety minutes end and the content does not.

Same drawings discipline as a stand. Higher penalty for getting it wrong.

Η αριθμητική είναι σταθερή: ένα custom περίπτερο θέλει 12 με 16 εβδομάδες από την υπογραφή μέχρι την παράδοση, και αυτές οι εβδομάδες δεν συμπιέζονται χωρίς κόστος. Το κόστος βγαίνει στις επιλογές: υλικά, φινιρίσματα, χρόνος για μελέτη.

We build booths. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀.
The two look like different work. The discipline underneath is the same one.

A stage is a booth with the audience on the outside. Both run on the same questions:
→ Where attention lands in the first seconds, and what carries it.
→ How the space reads from every seat or every aisle, not only the front.
→ How light, structure and sequence hold up under a live audience.
→ How fast it builds, and how well it holds on the third day or the second show.

A product launch is a 90-minute show. A conference keynote is a set that has to survive a full agenda. The engineering is the part that travels between them.

Same team. Same drawings discipline. Booths, stages, and the events around them.

Every booth is approved twice.
First in a meeting. Then in the aisle.

The first audience sees a render. Fixed angle, controlled light, all the time it needs to inspect every surface.

In the aisle, the same stand gets a few seconds at walking pace, under hall lighting, next to competitors.

A stand designed for both keeps its logic intact from screen to floor:
→ The render promises only what the workshop can deliver.
→ The layout reads at eye level and at aisle speed.
→ Materials, scale and finishes hold their character in the hall.

The meeting releases the budget. The aisle settles it, in front of people who have walked the whole hall first.

Performance over decoration.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱.

A stand has one job: to make a passing stranger stop, and to make the right conversation happen. Everything after that is finish.

We design for that job the way engineers design for load:
→ Where attention lands in the first seconds.
→ How people move through the space, and where they pause.
→ How it still reads sharp on day three, under real traffic and real light.

A render can look impressive and still fail the floor. The stands that perform were engineered for the floor from the first drawing.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.
𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 are deciding their builds 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸. Two still have room. One is a year out.

In May we published the math. Twelve to sixteen weeks from an approved brief to a built stand. The calendar has spent the first of that allowance, and the autumn shows have sorted themselves into states.

→ 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟭, is at 12 weeks. This is the live edge. It sits exactly on the floor of the custom window, so the full-custom decision for Auto Athina is being made this week, not next month.

→ 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗫 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟵 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟭 at Metropolitan Expo, is at 13 weeks. The same arithmetic as Auto Athina with a few days more room. Industry and technology exhibitors briefing now still have the full build open to them.

→ 𝗫𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟭 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟯, is at 19 weeks. The full option space is open. A brief that locks this month makes Xenia the calmest build of the season.

→ 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟴 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬, is on the long clock. Flagships are decided a year out, and that year has started.

None of this is an alarm. It is the calendar doing what calendars do. What it settles is which state your show is in.

𝗔𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺.
Procurement checks the joinery before the price list.

Hotel buyers audit spaces professionally. It is their job the other fifty weeks of the year. At Hotelia (Thessaloniki, November 13 to 15) and Xenia (Athens, November 21 to 23), that habit walks straight into your booth.

They run a hand along the counter edge. They notice how the lighting renders skin and fabric, because their guests will be lit the same way. They register whether the sample display is treated like a suite or like a shelf. By day three they know which exhibitors maintain their own space, and they draw the obvious conclusion about how those suppliers will maintain a partnership.

For hospitality shows we specify differently:
→ Touch-grade materials at hand height. The audit happens through fingertips.
→ Lighting at hospitality color temperatures, so products read as they will in the property.
→ Service access designed clean. Buyers notice the back of house. It is what they are buying.
→ One sample staged fully, as an experience, rather than ten staged as inventory.

November briefs that lock in July skip the autumn production crunch entirely.
