Kuzu - is a starch.
It is washed out from the root of the plant in ice cold water, not chemically like other starches available at the market.
1. When made into a drink, it coats the mucosal lining of the stomach and intestines, creating a temporary physical shield - covers already existing wounds.
2. Kuzu contains high amounts of resistant starch.
It upregulates the expression of essential tight junction proteins (such as Zonula Occludens-1, Claudin-1, and Occludin). These proteins act like mortar between cellular bricks, sealing the gaps in the intestinal wall - it heals the wounds in the intestines which are causing "leaky gut".
The research on it -
Mitigative effect of natural resistant starch from kudzu on intestinal-hepatic injury in mice exposed to high-fat diet and dextran sulfate sodium - PubMed https://share.google/NaE5jJOCeAO6EvCUU
3. Heals the intestinal inflammation due to isoflavone antioxidants.
Must have in your kitchen if you have IBS, Chron's or any other intestinal disorder.
