There are two kinds of people: those who create things and those who prevent things from being created.
Two big categories. When the second category becomes dominant, it proves that we have a big problem as humanity...

"When legality is not enough...."

There are times when silence is not an option. When you see a person being crushed while he has done everything right, then you have to speak up.

In , a professional friend with many years of presence in the area is faced with a blatant injustice. This is a woman who has been working consistently, transparently and respectfully in the area for 8 years, having created a space that not only did not degrade the area, but adorned it.

When she decided to invest again, risking all her savings, she proceeded exclusively through legal channels and in full compliance with the institutional framework:
- with a valid building permit (No. 1496417),
- with approvals from the Architectural Council,
- with complete studies and signatures of competent engineers,
- with compliance with every institutional and urban planning requirement.

And yet, the project was stopped!

Not because it violates the law. Not because it alters the character of the settlement. But because of political interventions and complaints, which raise serious questions about the ... selective application of legality.

What is happening is not a "technical issue". It is an abuse of power. When a project with all the legal approvals is blocked, when a small professional is targeted, when a family is led to financial and psychological annihilation without any documented violation, then the problem is not individual – it is institutional and deeply political.

In a state governed by the rule of law, legality is not negotiated and is not applied as they please. Equality cannot depend on political expediency or personal goals.

Society must see. Institutions must respond. Because when injustice remains unanswered, it ceases to be the exception. It becomes the rule.

PS. in the photo, the "abortion" that is being persecuted (both before and in its final designed form). What is not visible in the "before" image are the serious problems of aging. A building from 1917, which they loved and bought, to give it life and functionality again, with respect for the architectural identity of the place.

Manolis and Ioanna, we will succeed.

Open Letter – A Cry of Despair from a Professional in Koutouloufari

"I am addressing you with the hope that my voice will be heard, if we are to believe that we live in a fair and democratic society.
My name is Ioanna Psilopati and, together with my husband, I am the owner of a business in Koutouloufari, Paintondemand which I have served with hard work, honesty, and an unceasing struggle over the last eight years. Unfortunately, it seems that the success and the love I received from the people have caused resentment. All these years, I have been subjected to a relentless war, with the sole cause being the very existence and activity of my business. In the past, threats were even made that they would 'throw me out' and drive me away from the area.
I created an aesthetically pleasing space that graced the region, and my only dream was to evolve it even further. I did not steal, I did not deceive, and I did not bribe anyone. Through many years of hard work, I managed to purchase the shop and, following all legal procedures—holding a building permit (permit number 1496417), approvals from the Architectural Council, and certifications from the Municipality—I wished to invest my very last euro. My goal was to leave something for my daughter, who grew up in this shop and has linked all her memories to it.
I never bothered anyone. It is clear that my business is not just a professional space for me, but the culmination of a lifetime's labor and a legacy for my child. I am not asking for a favor, but for the self-evident right to work and create. Nevertheless, today, a coordinated effort is attempting to stop me, to evict me, and to destroy a family that has harmed no one.
In the face of this war, I have only one thing to say: Shame on you. Ethics and legality must, at last, prevail."

(Below is a rendering of the building as it would appear if I were allowed to complete it).

This is the vision that some are trying to stop. A space designed with respect for our local architecture, with all legal approvals, intended to offer quality and beauty to Koutouloufari. The truth is right before your eyes, despite the war being waged against me in the shadows.
