Color and warmth at Condado de Alhama Golf Resort.

The Cadi Orange series from Cerámicas Calaf was installed throughout this Murcia golf resort, chosen for its luminosity and warm Mediterranean tone. The terracotta adds depth and natural light to the spaces, creating environments that connect with the surrounding landscape.

The Cadi Orange tiles provide energy and visual comfort while maintaining the material's traditional performance — thermal regulation, durability, and authentic texture.

Custom terracotta defining luxury in the Mediterranean.

Guze Studio used Vélez Alberca terracotta flooring to remodel the common areas at Olivos, an exclusive residential complex in Palo Alto, Marbella. The floor creates a "rug" effect that defines the café's table area without physical partitions — spatial division through material instead of walls.

The Vélez Alberca design was created with a custom mold specifically for this project, combining modified Cuadrado 20 and Círculo 20 tiles. Designed by Damián López of LEBLUME studio, the pattern draws from the geometric forms of Málaga's vernacular architecture.

The result: Mediterranean luxury expressed through artisanal materials, earthy colors, and natural light. Handcrafted ceramics performing as high-end architectural detail.

What is terracotta anyway? Natural clay. Fired at high temperature. And one of the most sustainable building materials available.

Terracotta produces lower CO2 emissions than most alternatives. It's fully recyclable. Its thermal mass keeps interiors cooler in summer and warmer in winter, reducing energy bills without mechanical systems.

Properly installed terracotta lasts centuries. It handles weather, UV exposure, and temperature changes with minimal maintenance. Over time, it develops a natural patina that adds character.
The material works because it performs. Natural insulation. A lifespan measured in generations. Lower environmental impact than manufactured alternatives.

A floor that performs like a textile. MIPA's rug-effect marble grit tiles turn the ground plane into the focal point — patterns derived from historical research, executed in 20×20 cm modules.

Designs like Adelia, Intermezzo, and Il Trovatore use embedded marble grit to create depth and texture. Available in five finishes from prepolished to hand-antiqued.

These tiles work best at scale. A hundred modules arranged across a floor generate rhythm and frame space. The floor becomes architecture.

600 tiles suspended in space. Each one rotates 360 degrees. Seven colors from Aleluia's Urban Atelier collection, creating a shifting gradient as they turn.

'Suspended Color' was displayed at Clerkenwell Design Week 2019 in London — a collaboration between Aleluia, Aleksa Studio, and Solus. The installation used ceramic tiles as a kinetic color display rather than wall cladding. As the tiles spin, the pattern transforms.

Aleksa Studio designed it. Solus hosted it. Aleluia manufactured the tiles.

2,500 ceramic tiles. Screen-printed with words chosen by the community. Some hand-painted in a collective session. All fired to last.

The University of Aveiro's 'Glossário' totem stands 6 meters high at Ponto 50 — four faces displaying 21 words that represent fifty years of the institution. Ria. Salt. Wind. Light.

Aleluia supplied the 14×14 cm tiles and fired them at temperature that locks the pigment into the glaze. The color won't fade or shift over time.

Premium ceramics serve architectural projects, but they also enable public art. When manufacturers, artists and institutions collaborate, the work can be both ambitious and permanent.

The project was designed by Estúdio Pedrita in collaboration with the artistic intervention platform Mistaker Maker. Aleluia produced and fired the tiles.

Terracotta, reinvented from within.

What if terracotta could be produced in large-format slabs — up to 120×300 cm — with the strength of engineered stone, yet the warmth and soul of handcrafted cotto?

That is exactly what Sannini set out to achieve. In collaboration with Stone Italiana, their research laboratory developed Cottostone — a patented composite material made from 90% crushed Impruneta terracotta, bound with quartz sand and structural resin under high-pressure vacuum compression. The result carries the grain, tonality and essence of traditional terracotta, with performance that surpasses the original.

Floors, walls, facades, staircases, kitchen and bathroom surfaces — Cottostone works across all of them, indoors and out, in standard formats or precision waterjet-cut to any design specification.
