As the season slowly winds down, we’re adjusting our hours.

— Until October 31st: open 10:00–19:00
— From November 1st to 15th: open 10:00–18:00

Our last day this year will be November 15 — then Hydria takes a winter pause.
It’s been a colourful, joyful season.

Thank you to everyone who visited the shop, sent a message, shared a post, or simply walked in and looked around.
We’re lucky to have such a kind and curious community around us — both here in Asomatos and far beyond.

A special thank you to Antonis, who has been at the shop all season — welcoming visitors, packing orders with care, and helping Hydria feel like home.
We’ll be back in April — with new ideas, new moments, and more to share from the workshop.

Before a piece is glazed, it needs to be trimmed.�Once the clay is semi-dry, excess material is carefully removed — smoothing edges, refining shape, and giving the base a clean finish.
�This step takes patience, timing, and a steady hand.
At Hydria, we create a wide range of forms — from cups and bowls to large plates and carafes — all crafted by hand.
�Our pieces come in six signature colours… and sometimes a few surprises.�Handmade items for everyday use, glazed and fired locally!

Have you noticed that we really love cats?

At Hydria, they’re part of the everyday.�They nap in the sun, stroll through the shop, and always know where to find a quiet corner (or a snack).
�Some have been with us for years, others just stop by — but they’re all part of the atmosphere.

We feed them, we care for them, and yes… we spoil them a little too.
�Hydria wouldn’t be the same without them.

We’d love to welcome you to Hydria this October.

We’re still offering free pottery for children aged 6 and up – no booking needed. A simple way for kids to try the wheel and get creative with clay.

Join us every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, between 11 AM and 7 PM.

Στις 14 Σεπτεμβρίου, το «Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού» — η μεγαλύτερη οργάνωση για την προστασία των παιδιών στην Ελλάδα — διοργάνωσε μια όμορφη εκδήλωση για παιδιά στην Επισκοπή Ρεθύμνου.
Ο Σταύρος από το Hydria Pottery συμμετείχε με ένα εργαστήρι κεραμικής για παιδιά, προσφέροντας δημιουργικές στιγμές και επαφή με τον πηλό.
Υπήρχαν πολλές ακόμη δραστηριότητες και ήταν μια μέρα γεμάτη χαμόγελα.

On September 14th, The Smile of the Child — the largest child protection organisation in Greece — hosted a beautiful event for children in Episkopi, Rethymno. Stavros from Hydria Pottery was there offering a pottery workshop for kids, sharing hands-on moments with clay. There were many other activities as well, and it was a day full of smiles.
