Architecture shaped by terrain, light and function.

The design of Primary School in Filyro takes advantage of the site’s natural slope, orienting the building to capture views of the surrounding landscape while optimizing daylighting and environmental performance.

A main north-to-south linear volume is complemented by a multipurpose hall positioned perpendicularly and partially recessed into the hillside. Deep arcades extend along the ground and upper levels, framing protected spaces for movement and play across every season.

The perforated black facade introduces a playful element, creating dynamic shadows and engaging child-scale moments within the overarching composition.

A school designed around the experience of growing up.

The Primary School in Filyro was conceived around a simple idea. A school is one of the first spaces children encounter outside their home, and architecture becomes part of the memories they create within it.

Set on an east-facing slope with views across the surrounding fields and distant lakes, the project balances structural simplicity, clear functionality, and universal accessibility. A primary north-to-south volume houses the core academic functions, while a perpendicular multipurpose hall responds to the natural slope of the site.

Every space is designed to support the everyday rhythms of learning, movement, and community.

Set within an olive grove, The Compass seamlessly integrates the surrounding landscape into everyday school life. Indigenous planting becomes an active component of the educational environment, fostering a continuous connection with nature as students navigate between indoor and outdoor spaces.

An architecture that points beyond borders.

The Compass was conceived as more than an educational facility. Its architectural form acts as a symbolic gesture, expressing the international identity of the European School while remaining grounded in the history and cultural heritage of Crete.

The crisp white architectural composition adopts a refined international language, subtly integrating references to European alphabets and the symbols of the Phaistos Disc. These elements reinforce themes of unity, multiculturalism, and shared identity.

The result is a learning environment designed to look toward the future without losing connection to its place.

At Terra Hotel, the hospitality programme extends from the first point of arrival to the private spaces of accommodation.

The main lobby and reception form part of the hotel’s ground-floor public areas, alongside restaurants, bars and lounges. Moving into the upper levels, 26 deluxe rooms complete the experience, each designed as part of the hotel’s wider hospitality offering.

Together, public and private spaces form the central hotel experience within Aqua Terra Club Resort, one of three interconnected sections that shape the overall development in Sarti, Halkidiki.
