Thank you very much for the Director at the HKSAR Beijing office and his team, consulates from different countries and arts collectors attended our artist Joe Wong’s with two other artists’ group exhibition “Ode to Colours” opening ceremony at Cloud House Beijing in mid August.

The exhibition was successfully completed. Looking forward to seeing you all soon at our Hollywood road gallery in Hong Kong.

This August, Oi Ling Gallery is launching a special talk series dedicated to Chinese antique furniture. We’d love to share the timeless beauty of Ming-style pieces, which are known for their minimalist design and exceptional craftsmanship.

燕譽堂於今年八月推出一系列中國古董家具講座，希望與大家欣賞明式家具的獨有魅力，發掘其簡約設計與精湛的傳統工藝。

We are happy to share that our first session on “Ming Chairs” was a great success! During the talk, we discussed the aesthetics and structural details of Ming-style chairs, as well as how they continue to inspire modern design.

Do you know what this is?
It is an incense burner from the Qing Dynasty (清朝）. This is called the Ruyi (如意形） shaped burner. The reason the burner is beautifully carved with patterns is to allow the smoke comes out in a beautiful form. Different people use different materials to fragrant their rooms . Agar wood is one of the preferred material as the fragrance is considered the most beautiful. The way to use it is first ground the agar wood into powder and put the powder into the burner with some charcoal. The heat of the charcoal will help the fragrance to release. This burner is now on display in Oi Ling Antiques. Go see when you have time. It is worth the visit. ❤️
