Oi Ling Gallery is delighted to present the exhibition, “The Art of Tea Drinking and the Art of Using Aromatics and Incense”, celebrating these two extraordinary forms of intangible cultural heritage.

During the exhibition period, we will be co-hosting a series of lectures and workshops with Chinese Cultural Studies Center and Chinese Incense Culture Studies Center. We warmly invite you to join and experience with us!

燕譽堂很高興舉辦 「品茶與用香的文化藝術」 展覽，一同欣賞茶和香這兩項非物質文化遺產。展覽期間我們將與承真樓及中國香文化研究會合辦一系列的講座和工作坊，誠邀閣下蒞臨參加！

從不同香器去認識古人的生活和藝術，製作香丸及品香，探索中國香文化的雅趣。
Explore the elegant world of Chinese incense culture: understand ancient lifestyles and artistry through diverse incense utensils, and experience the hands-on craft of making incense balls and the art of scent appreciation.

2. 品茶的文化藝術
The Art of Tea Drinking

主題：一席宋茶，夢回風雅
Theme：A Sip of Song Tea: Reimagining Ancient Elegance

本次由中國文化推廣交流協會、國家高級宋茶技師賈倩明帶領，體驗以複刻宋人點茶為核心，品鑒宋式煎茶、擊拂成沫技藝。 循著古籍茶俗，從擇茶、候湯到調膏，沉浸式感受宋代飲茶雅趣。 依託茶器與茶道禮儀，探尋宋人閒逸文脈，在一盞清茶里品讀大宋煙火與雅緻。
Join us for an immersive experience led by Jia Qianming, a National Senior Song Dynasty Tea Art Professional from the Chinese Culture Promotion and Exchange Association. This session focuses on the authentic revival of the Song Dynasty Dian Cha, offering a tasting of Song-style tea and a demonstration of the traditional tea frothing technique. Following the ancient tea custom, you will experience the entire process—from selecting the leaves and heating the water to mixing the tea paste—capturing the true essence of Song Dynasty tea culture. Through the lens of tea utensils and etiquette, we invite you to trace the refined lifestyle of Song scholars and discover both the lively everyday spirit and the poetic beauty of the Song Dynasty in every cup.

3. 宋人四雅 — 掛畫
Four Chinese arts - Song style paintings
宋代文人追求「燒香、點茶、掛畫、插花」的「生活四藝」，將日常閒事昇華為極致的生活美學。本工作坊以四藝中的「掛畫」為主題，帶領參加者步入宋代扇面掛畫的藝術世界。

本工作坊將解析宋代畫家如何在「方寸扇面」中展現「一隅取景」與「小中見大」的意境，細品工筆勾勒與沒骨設色的美學精髓，感受古人「格物致知」的匠心。此外，透過現場繪製體驗，導師將親自指導中國花卉繪製的基本技法與暈染要點，讓您在動手實踐中，深刻讀懂宋代審美，沉浸式感受宋時花卉鳥羽的鮮活氣韻，重拾古人閒逸的生活雅趣。

Song scholars elevated daily life into an art form through the 'Four Arts'—incense, tea, paintings, and flowers. Spotlighting the art of 'hanging paintings,' this workshop invites you on a journey into the exquisite world of Song Dynasty fan art.

We will explore how ancient masters achieved the poetic effect of "a universe within an inch" and "corner-view composition" within the limited space of a fan. Discover the mastery behind fine-line brushwork and the traditional painting skill that reflect the spirit of deep observation. You will also enjoy a hands-on painting session, learning foundational Chinese floral painting and color-blending techniques under expert guidance. Immerse yourself in the authentic aesthetic of the Song Dynasty, bring the vibrant energy of flowers and birds to life, and rediscover the elegant, slow-paced lifestyle of ancient times.

Dear Friends of Oi Ling Gallery,

We are excited to let you know that we will be exhibiting at Affordable Art Fair 2026, Booth B01 in May 2026 (14th - 17th May).

In this fair, we will be introducing the latest collections of our very talented ink artists. Here are the names of the artists:
1/ Rainbow Leung - a reputable HK cartoonist and columnist who created a series of ink art titled “Dogs and Cats” comics - This comic series of art is unique and attractive.

2/ Yuan Siwen - An artist who specialises in using calligraphy and scripts as a symbols and pictographs to convey his thoughts – we will be exhibiting his latest series.

3/ Wang Hui - A professor at Nanjing XiaoZhuang University who is well known for her Chinese traditional gongbi painting and her works have been collected by Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum and more…..we will exhibit her latest fan paintings in gongbi style.

4/ Huang Chun Chia - A professor in National Taiwan University of Arts who is well known for using a modern style to by combining calligraphy and ink painting which is exciting to see. We will present his unique seals and ink paintings this year.

Most of all, we will be presenting two of our famous local artists Lin Xi and Chip Tsao’s latest works.

Apart from the artists mentioned above, we will also be showing 2 special artists who specialized in intangible cultural heritage works - His name is Joe Wong, who uses paper cutting to create unbelievable two dimensional art. And also Mia Nel - using sugar as her media on creating beautiful arts inspired by nature.

Last but not the least our metal sculptor, Zhu Kefeng – An artist who started paying attention to the environment more than 20 years ago. All the materials of his works are found in dumping sites. He took them home and transformed them into beautiful art pieces.

We are looking forward to meeting you all at our booth B01 and sharing our SPECIAL curated art pieces.

Lin Xin’s latest collection of his lyrics is amazing. He uses Chinese calligraphy and graphic images to express the deep emotions and feelings of the lyrics he wrote for different artists.

Oi Ling Gallery (C21) x Art Central 2026 🖋️🎶 ✨ ✨ ✨

We are very honored to present Lin Xi (林夕)’s latest calligraphic works at Booth C21.

While he is celebrated for writing over 4,000 song lyrics since the 1980s, Lin Xi also holds a profound admiration for Chinese calligraphy and culture.

Lin Xi believes that while lyrics contain words, brush and ink can create a "picture" that speaks to the soul.

His goal for his calligraphy is to capture the exact mental state he was in when he originally composed his famous lyrics.

Please come to Booth C21 and experience how the legendary lyricists in Hong Kong translates the rhythm of music into the flow of ink !
