【藝術家專欄｜周東明】山海城隅的抽象寫意

當代藝術家周東明，生於山東青島的藝術世家，自幼浸潤中西藝術熏陶。畢業於青島教育學院，其後進修北京中央工藝美術學院，長期專注自然意象與城市風景的寫意創作。

他擅長捨棄寫實描摹，以抽象視覺語言重構風景與城市風貌。代表作《維港青嶼》以青藍翠綠暈染海浪流動，剛勁筆觸凝練島嶼與桅影，虛實交錯之間重塑維港山海氣韻，在奔放節奏中建立獨特畫面秩序。

作品《緋色城隅》則以緋紅、紫粉與青藍層疊堆疊，用幾何塊面暗示都市建築、跳動線條演繹街巷脈絡，在紛雜的都市張力中拆解視覺邊界，從混沌之中梳理屬於城市的平衡與肌理。

本次於《識畫・相惜》帶來全新意識流創作，將山海自然與城市時態化為流轉色彩與筆觸，讓觀者在抽象風景裡，看見香港靜謐且深沉的內在意識。

Artist Feature｜Zhou D**g Ming
Abstract Impressions of Mountains, Seas and Urban Corners

Born to an artistic family in Qingdao, Shandong, contemporary artist Zhou D**g Ming grew up immersed in Eastern and Western art. A graduate of Qingdao College of Education, he further studied at Beijing’s Central Academy of Arts and Design, devoting his practice to expressive works inspired by nature and cityscape.

Rejecting realistic depiction, he re‑imagines landscapes and urban scenes through abstract visual language. His signature piece Green Isles of Victoria Harbour renders surging waves in cyan and emerald. Bold brushstrokes shape islands and masts, merging reality and illusion to capture Victoria Harbour’s essence with compelling visual rhythm.

In Crimson Urban Corner , scarlet, magenta and cool blue layers overlap. Geometric shapes hint at city architecture, and lively lines trace street networks. Breaking visual boundaries amid urban chaos, he draws subtle balance and texture out of modern‑city complexity.

For Stream of Sensation, he unveils new stream‑of‑consciousness creations. Converting mountains, seas and urban energy into fluid colours and brushwork, his abstract landscapes reveal Hong Kong’s quiet, profound inner spirit for audiences.

由Beyond 核心樂手，到香港跨媒介藝術家黃貫中（Paul Wong），畢業於香港理工大學設計學院。不同於大眾熟知的音樂身份，他的視覺藝術天賦啟蒙更早，數十年持續深耕畫布創作，累積出獨特的前衛美學風格。

他的作品以印象派光影為基底，融入搖滾音樂的自由張力，憑藉層次飽和的色彩、隨性灑脫的筆觸，將旋律、節奏與熾熱情緒視覺化，打破視聽邊界，實現音樂與繪畫的雙重藝術融合。

拋棄制式繪畫框架與套路技法，他遵從直覺與當下感知即興創作，以真實流動的情緒賦予畫面強烈張力，塑造出專屬音樂人視角、無可复刻的抽象藝術語言。

本次參展《識畫・相惜》，他以意識流創作記錄內心思緒，將光影變幻、音樂律動與飄忽感知融於畫布。抽象肆意的畫境中，色彩自有節奏、筆觸暗藏旋律，讓靜態畫作擁有流動的情緒與生命力。

Artist Feature｜Paul Wong
Cross-Media Visual Creator

Beyond core member and Hong Kong cross-media artist Paul Wong graduated from the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Long devoted to visual creation, he has cultivated a unique avant-garde aesthetic beyond his musical identity.

His paintings adopt Impressionist light and shadow infused with the freedom of rock music. With rich layered colours and unrestrained brushwork, he translates melodies and emotions into visuals, blurring the line between music and painting.

Abandoning rigid rules and fixed techniques, he paints intuitively and improvisationally. His authentic, flowing emotions shape a one-of-a-kind abstract style defined by a musician’s unique perspective.
In Stream of Sensation, Paul presents stream-of-consciousness works that merge light variations, musical rhythm and subtle inner perceptions. His abstract pieces carry natural tempo and flowing emotions, bringing vivid vitality to static canvases.

香港當代藝術家黃巧嫻，英國南威爾斯大學藝術碩士、香港大一藝術設計學院畢業，身兼中國鴻志中基客家文化博物館副館長、藝術專欄作家，兼具創作、策展與藝術評論視野，持有國家一級美術師資格。

作品融合水墨與丙烯媒介，留存東方筆墨韻致，大膽搭配明快色調，風格內斂溫柔，兼具知性氣質與純真童趣，多次參加洛杉磯藝博會、東京都美術館等國際展覽。

本次藝穗會展覽，除展出《春韻悠長》《春光滿瓶》等經典代表作，亦首次呈現多幅全新創作。作品延續瓶花等的核心意象，以流動筆觸勾勒季節律動，以靜物意境頌讚生命生機，傳遞溫柔治愈的日常美學，讓觀者在詩意畫境中，感受生活暗藏的溫暖與從容。

Artist Feature｜Chantelle Huang
Poetic and Intellectual Warmth

Hong Kong contemporary artist Chantelle Huang holds a Master of Arts from the University of South Wales and a diploma from Hong Kong First Institute of Art & Design. She serves as Deputy Curator of China Hongzhi Zhongji Hakka Culture Museum and art columnist. Equipped with creative, curatorial and critical perspectives, she is certified as a National First-Class Artist.

Her works combine ink and acrylic, retaining oriental brush charm while adopting bright, bold hues. Muted yet tender, her style blends intellectual grace with childlike innocence. She has exhibited internationally at LA Art Show, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and other venues.

At this Fringe Club exhibition, signature works Enduring Echoes of Spring, A Vase Full of Spring and other classics are shown alongside multiple premiering new pieces. Drawing on vase‑flower motifs, these works render seasonal rhythms with fluid brushwork. They celebrate life’s vitality through still‑life charm and deliver soft, healing everyday aesthetics, inviting audiences to discover quiet warmth and serenity within poetic painterly spaces.

Artist Feature｜Cheung Man Ling

Contemporary Stream-of-Consciousness Creator
Hong Kong contemporary artist Cheung Man Ling grew up immersed in Southeast Asian arts and culture. In the early 1990s, he studied Abstract Expressionism in the US, then learnt calligraphy under master painter Huang Peijiang. He currently focuses on art creation and art education promotion.

Breaking away from established aesthetic frameworks, He paints without pre-set compositions, allowing forms to evolve naturally on canvas. He pioneered the exclusive ”Fire Ink“ technique, blending oriental ink aesthetics with modern abstract expression.

Fluctuating colours and textures interpret the dynamic tension of time, light and life, creating a mysterious, highly recognizable personal style.

His creations are rooted in Hong Kong’s urban context, with brushstrokes capturing urban transformations and collective memories. Interlaced lines and colour blocks carry themes of transformation, rebirth and hope for the future.

At Fringe Club for Stream of Sensation, he showcases his classic stream-of-consciousness works. The unpredictable Fire Ink visuals capture drifting thoughts, guiding viewers to spiritual appreciation and emotional resonance amid abstract imagery.

His creations blend delicate colours, diverse forms and profound spiritual connotations, merging Eastern artistic charm with modern visual tension. He has earned numerous authoritative art awards and holds national senior art professional qualifications.�

His works are internationally acclaimed, exhibited and collected by prestigious art institutions across Paris, Tokyo, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.�

For Stream of Sensation, he presents his signature stream-of-consciousness series. Recording inner perceptions through pure and fluid brushwork, he builds intimate spiritual resonance with viewers via layered, evolving colours.

Stream of Sensation – Stream of Consciousness Group Show Landing at Fringe Club

In stream‑of‑consciousness art, canvases go beyond reproducing objective forms to lay bare artists’ inner psyches. This group show features over 40 new works by five reators, deconstructing contemporary perception with fragmented narratives and abstract brushstrokes.

“Seeing” signifies active immersive aesthetic awareness; “Sympathy” captures the spiritual resonance between viewers and artworks. More than a display of painterly skill, it initiates a profound dialogue on the essence of life‑consciousness.

2026 Affordable Art Fair 回顧｜真畫廊多謝大家支持！

四日展會轉眼就完咗,真係好唔捨得！

由開幕到閉幕，真畫廊 H6 展位人潮無停過，勁多藝術愛好者同收藏家嚟到現場，氣氛熱烈到爆!

特別多謝香港國際青年藝術家協會（HIYA）嘅成員到場撐我哋！仲有幾位藝術家——范真（Chun Fan）、黃巧嫻（Chantelle Huang）、張曼靈（Manling Cheung）、Nance Lokos——親自現身展位，同大家分享作品背後嘅故事，真係好難得。

期間藝人鄧麗欣（Stephy Tang）都嚟咗參觀，我哋感到非常榮幸。

the four-day fair flew by so fast – we’re already missing it!
From opening to closing day, our Booth H6 was packed with non-stop energy. So many art lovers and collectors came by – the atmosphere was absolutely electric.

A huge thank you to the members of the Hong Kong International Youth Artists Association (HIYA) for coming out to support us!

We were also thrilled to have artists Chun Fan, Chantelle Huang, Manling Cheung, and Nance Lokos at our booth, sharing the stories behind their works in person – such a special moment.

During the fair, we were truly honoured to welcome actress Stephy Tang as well.

Our camera captured every sincere conversation, every meaningful glance. The power of art blossomed right there at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Thank you once again to everyone who visited us! See you in May next year.

展後回顧｜從展牆到藏家，感謝每一份眼光

本屆Affordable Art Fair，真畫廊展位反響熱烈，藝術家均有多幅作品成交，涵蓋油畫、彩墨、水彩與混合媒材等多種媒介，成果令人鼓舞。

范真的画作持續受到藏家關注，《水世界》、《藍綠夢》等作品均在展會期間覓得新主；張曼靈的《Sheung Wan Streets series》系列同樣備受青睞；黃巧嫻的《自然之韻》系列亦獲多位藏家購入。每一幅離開展牆的作品，都是對藝術家創作最真摯的回應。

感謝每一位藏家的慧眼與支持，讓這些作品開啟下一段旅程。

At this year's Affordable Art Fair, Chun Gallery received an enthusiastic response, with all artists seeing multiple works acquired across oil, coloured ink, watercolour and mixed media — a truly encouraging result.

Chun Fan's abstract language continued to draw collector attention, with Water World, Blue-Green Dream and other works finding new homes during the fair. Manling Cheung's Sheung Wan Streets series garnered strong interest. Chantelle Huang's Rhythm of Nature series was also taken up by several collectors. Each work that leaves the gallery wall is a heartfelt response to the artist's vision.

Our deepest gratitude to every collector for their discerning eye — may these works begin a new journey in your spaces.

Who is the pioneer of our time?

Recommended event for July! The annual art exhibition hosted by the Hong Kong International Youth Artists Association (HIYA) is now open for submissions. To allow more creators the opportunity to participate, the submission deadline has been extended to May 25, 2026. This is more than an exhibition — it is a collaborative exploration between established and emerging artists. We sincerely invite creators of all levels to redefine "Lead The Way" through your unique perspectives.

Submission Details

This open call welcomes works in any medium, including painting, sculpture, installation, new media, and mixed media. Each artist may submit up to 5 works for selection.
