沉澱日常 kenobi Kenobi ·ケの美|appreciating the beauty we encounter everyday|學習生活·細味日常|? This made me more aware of the importance to slow down and collect my thoughts.

「沉澱日常」是我為自學藍染而改的名字。剛開始做藍染時,老覺得顏色做得不漂亮固色也不好,然後我問前輩,他說要氧化時間及染的次數足夠才會染出好布。我以為我蠢賴器材不專業,其實我是沒有耐性,每做一個簡單藍染大概要用一至兩小時,這讓我更明白安靜慢活,沉澱心靈的重要性,人也是需要時間去沉澱累積,才會完整。
「kenobi」是日語「ケの美」的羅馬拼音,解「日常之美」。在地的美學,實用而且具持續性,帶有人性的溫暖。

都市人走得太快,是時候沈澱一下,學習欣賞「日常之美」。「沈澱日常」會與大家分享關於顏色的創作及慢活日常。

I learn Aizome (natural indigo dyeing)by myself since 2016. during the early time, I always felt that the color and colorfastness of my works

were not good. I asked my uncle who studied dyeing, he said that the duration of oxidation and number of dips contributed to a good dyed work. at the very beginning I thought that the poor result was due to the inadequate of equipment, but i finally recognised that it was because I didn’t have the patience like a craftsman should have. people need a quiet moment to settle their soul as well. "Kenobi " means “The Beauty of Everyday Life (ケの美)” in Japanese, it is an idea of appreciating the things we encounter everyday, which is also practical and sustainable with a human touch.

【natural pigment from south Italy南意的天然色彩】(中文👇🏻)I recently visited a paint shop that sells natural pigments for construction. These natural paints are resistant to humidity and pests, and they’re completely free from toxic chemicals. I bought a few pigments to add to my natural color collection.
The coverage of these mineral pigments is impressive. Through oxidation and chemical reactions between different natural minerals, a huge variety of shades can be created. I love the shop’s motto, ‘le nostre vernici non hanno nulla da nascondere : Our colors have nothing to hide.’ It’s so true—we are returning to a simpler way of living, and shouldn‘t we?

最近去了意大利南部一家售賣建築用天然色粉的店舖。這些天然色粉不僅防潮、防蟲,而且完全不含化學毒素。

My father was a coffin maker. He spent his life crafting vessels for the ”end of life.“
Because he frequently visited Yam O to source timber, he became friends with the workers who guarded the log ponds. As a child, he often took my siblings and me there. There were vast floating ponds storing giant logs that had drifted from distant lands. To me, it never felt like a somber graveyard; it was an extension of my father’s work—a place where great lives were laid to rest.
我的父親是一名棺材木匠。他的一生都在與「生命終點」的容器打交道。
因為不時要到陰澳買木材關係,他跟看守木塘的工人成為朋友。小時候,他常帶我和姐弟去陰澳。那裡有巨大的水上木塘,儲存著從遠方漂流而來的原木。對我而言,那裡從來不是陰森的墓地,而是父親工作的延伸——一個安置巨大生命的地方。

(中文👇🏻)This place was once known simply as Yum O.
In the 1990s, to make way for a man-made paradise,
the word "yum" was deemed too heavy, too dark in chinese.
It was renamed Sunny Bay,
in the hope that sunshine and laughter might last forever.

Yet what was forgotten is why the ancients chose "yum":
the bay curves inward, deep and restrained,
turning away the burning sun and the fierce winds,
cradling drifting timber in its stillest waters—
a shadow not of coldness,
but of gentleness,
a shade that carries warmth within.

這個地方,一直叫陰澳。
1990年代,為了迎合一座人造的樂園,
人們嫌棄「陰」字太過沉重,官方將它改名為「欣澳」,
希望能換來永續的陽光與歡笑。
但他們忘了,古人稱此為「陰」,
正因那深邃內斂的海灣能遮擋烈日與強風,
為漂流的木頭提供最平靜的庇護 ,那是一種溫柔而有溫度的陰影。

(中文👇🏻)Many years later, I moved to the UK. In my studio, I experimented with making copper ink. As I watched the copper sheets slowly bloom into a melancholic blue within the saltwater, I suddenly remembered Yam O and the copper plates on those stilt houses..我來到英國發展。在工作室裡,我嘗試製作銅墨水。當我看到銅片在鹽水中緩緩綻放出那抹憂鬱的藍,我突然記起了陰澳,和那些水上木屋表面含銅的金屬板 。

(中文👇🏻)🧪🌱Stepping into 2026 with stained hands and a curious heart.
Lately my studio feels like a small alchemy lab — experimenting with natural copper ink painting, botanical printing, and different mordants, watching colours shift as they meet paper, air, and time.
This year, I want to slow down and listen more closely — to plants, to materials, and to the people connected to them.
In 2026, I hope to keep telling stories of natural colour, everyday life, and the quiet relationships between nature and people.
A new beginning. Not louder — just deeper. 🤍
🧪🌿踏入2026的工作室就好似一個小小的煉金實驗室——做天然銅墨水、重新再發現植物移印,嘗試不同媒染劑,欣賞顏色在紙張、空氣與時間中慢慢變化。
新的一年,學習放慢腳步,細心聆聽植物、染材,以及與它們相連的人的故事。
2026,會繼續用天然顏色說故事,記錄日常生活中,人與自然之間那些靜靜存在的連結。
新的開始,不是更大聲,只是更深入細味每一個細節。✨
