【McDonald’s IFC Facelift】
How does a classic fast food chain transform itself into a modern eatery? Interior design can play an important role. With help from Maple Design, McDonald’s continues to surprise many with its latest contemporary approach to the interior design of its branches. The latest example can be found in IFC, Central.

The first thing one notices is great consistency in style between this branch and others – the well-lit space is lined with concrete walls and matte stainless steel surfaces, giving it a sleek yet unassuming look. The centrepiece is a custom-made neon signage of a burger on a wall, bringing some downtown metropolitan vibes to their patrons. McDonald’s certainly doesn’t shy away from its ambition to lead the decor game among its competitors!

【A First For Us – Constructing McDonald’s Maritime Plaza Branch】

As McDonald’s long-time contractor, we’ve helped the food chain transform many of its branches to align with its vision as a modern eatery. This, however, is our first time to build a brand new restaurant for McDonald’s, and we love the results!

A lot of the design details are indicative of McDonald’s new, contemporary interior style, such as the wood flooring, white tiles and furniture with sleek lines. What makes this space pop are the ornaments – the lettering on the wall, the illustrations that have a alphabets/food motif and the crossword-inspired decoration all contribute to the urban vibe of the restaurant.

What’s more, you can find interesting fixtures and fittings around the place, such as a halo-shaped structure hovering over a round table, stools that resemble little mushrooms, as well as those benches made out of a singled, curved piece of wood, all crafted by our very skilful team. Which makes us wonder: are we at a McDonald’s or an art gallery?

【McDonald’s Tai On Building Branch Uplift】

McDonald’s is always a pleasure to work with! After helping the fast food giant revamp their branches in Meifoo, Yee Woo Street and Kowloon City Plaza, we have now arrived at the Eastern District!

Maple has been putting out work that is highly consistent in build quality and style for McDonald’s, and the restaurant at Tai On Building is no exception. It shares the same metropolitan and minimalist direction of the other revamped branches, yet also has strikingly unique details that makes the dining experience one-of-a-kind.

【Yves Rocher Store Revamp at Plaza Hollywood】

We are glad to be commissioned by French beauty brand Yves Rocher once again, this time for the renovation of their Plaza Hollywood branch to coincide with its global rebranding initiative.

The Maple team was tasked with revamping the entire shop according to specifications of the Yves Rocher HQ in France to deliver a consistent in-store experience and brand identity across the globe.

Our work includes painting, flooring, installation of product display stands, ceiling structure and other fixtures, as well as building the facial treatment room. The material and chromatic choice of the space is a reflection of the brand’s expertise in botanical and eco-friendly beauty products. Come visit the store to feel its nature-loving vibe!

【McDonald’s Kowloon City Plaza Branch Uplift】

Happy meals just got a lot happier! Once again, Maple has partnered up with McDonald’s for a revamp, going for a fresh new hip and trendy look at its Kowloon City Plaza branch where all the youngsters hang.

As a global fast-food chain, it is important to keep things consistent and at a high standard - we installed the illuminated signboards, re-did the cashier and pick-up counters, as well as the McCafe counter and the dessert stand. We added a splash of colour to the scene with the matching wall designs and furniture, giving it a more fun and lively atmosphere.

【McDonald’s Yee Woo Street Branch Uplift】

Updating a classic is never easy, but we’re always up for the challenge! This project brought us to the iconic McDonald’s branch in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Causeway Bay, and asked for a young and rejuvenated look to the two-story space. We re-did the pick-up counter, cashier counter and the McCafe counter, as well as the paintwork, ceiling, while carving out an area for the new self-order kiosks and dressing the walls with graffiti to go with the urban setting.

Sleek. Metropolitan. Functional. Just like McDonald’s!

As much as we love doing F&B projects, we’re always in for something fresh, and there’s nothing fresher than a shop revamp for Yves Rocher. Yves Rocher is a well-established French brand and was just recently undergoing a re-branding campaign for a younger and refreshing look, which this shop revamp project is part of.

Saluting to the origin of Yves Rocher, a brand found based on the richness of the botanical world and its infinite potential, in the heart of Brittany, France, 90% of the materials used in this renovation is imported from its home country. Let’s take a trip to France!

【Eric Kayser - 70 Queen's Road East】
How do you bring a piece of London and fit it into Hong Kong? Such was the challenge of this project, where we were asked to remodel this Eric Kayser after their London’s branch on Baker Street. For the European feel, the team combined exotic patterned tiles, a soft color palette, with modern elements such as steel frame cases and white marble to create a place that oozes a London vibe. And like all things British, there are posh little details like hand selected materials and a bit of Eric Kayser’s legacy in the space, take a tour with our photos!

【餐飲業室內設計法則】- 快速休閒餐廳篇

現今都市急促的生活和工作節奏，與及持續高企的租金和營運成本，都讓不少餐廳東主考慮「快速休閒」(fast-casual)的定位和營運模式 – 兼具快餐的效率和人客轉流，卻同時提供更精緻、更具營養和切合人客自身餐飲需要的體驗。

因為轉流效率是其中一個重要的成功指標，顧客人流控制，同時管理好他們的期望和心情就是整個fast-casual模式的重要一環。餐牌的擺放位置和設計如何令客人能快速的挑選心儀食物、輪候區和用餐區的分隔、點單區的排隊隊形設計、廚區和用餐區的距離及廚房的設計，盡皆是牽一髮而動全身的重點小節。

另外要特別提醒大家的是用餐區和服務員的服務或清潔用具貯存設備的佈局，因為這都會直接影響顧客的體驗，卻往往在餐廳的新陳代謝中，較其他項目，例如新座椅、器材，甚或擺設裝飾等更受忽視。
