Célom az, hogy olyan szerethető, igényes, sokféle vizuális és taktilis élményt nyújtó, használható tárgyakat hozzak létre, amelyek a 21. századi otthonoknak, vagy akár közterületeknek is díszei lehetnek, és amelyek ötletes dizájnjuk révén belföldön és külföldön is piacképesek, és öregbíthetik a kortárs magyar dizájn hírnevét. Formálni szeretném a befogadó közönség ízlésvilágát, és megszólítani a vásárlóközönséget is, alternatívát felmutatva a kommersz és globális, könnyen hozzáférhető, tömeggyártott tárgyakkal szemben. Alkotási folyamatomhoz sokáig a hagyományos magyar népi tárgykultúra és díszítőművészet, az ősmagyar mintakincs szolgált meghatározó inspirációs forrásul. Ugyanakkor ma már figyelemmel kísérem a nemzetközi trendeket is, szívesen kalandozom a világ kerámiaműhelyeiben és kerámiatechnikái között. Egyéni tanulmányaimat nemzetközi kapcsolatépítéssel is kiegészítem, külföldi keramikusokkal veszem fel a kapcsolatot, olasz és angol nyelvtudásomat kamatoztatva tanulmányutakat, műhelylátogatásokat szervezek.

"Handmade is the new luxury," I once read in one of Heather Knight's artist statements. She adds: "There's something special about choosing to live with things that were made by hand. Things that took time. Things you won't see everywhere."

And I couldn't agree more. There is something special about handmade pieces, especially functional ones. Just look at the details of a small espresso cup. The subtle throwing lines, the slight variations in form, the way the glaze settles and breaks at the edges, each trace tells the story of the maker's hands.

But I don't think this should be a luxury. Handmade doesn't have to be rare to be meaningful. These are things worth making space for, not privileges reserved for a few.

Aging of a raku piece. The kiln finishes the firing. Time finishes the piece.

This is Fields of Salento photographed at different stages of its life. After firing, the surface has continued to change over the years. The colors have deepened, contrasts softened, and time has added a patina that no firing could quite replicate. This is part of the magic of raku and the beauty of wabi-sabi.
