I would like to take this opportunity to mention that in recent days I had the chance to appear in a news segment by Reuters. I hope that through this, our case may receive greater international attention.
I would like to share an important message with world leaders, with special respect to the leaders of the United Arab Emirates. You are surely aware that elections have taken place in Hungary, and a completely new government is expected to be formed. In this situation, it is deeply concerning that individuals connected to the previous system may seek refuge in other countries.
As a citizen of Hungary who feels a strong sense of responsibility toward my country, I respectfully ask you not to allow these individuals to settle in your nation. I kindly urge you to cooperate in ensuring that they can be held accountable, and that the wealth taken from Hungary in recent years can be returned. We are speaking about a case widely regarded as one of the largest financial abuses in recent history—amounting to more than 800 million dollars.
This money is missing from the lives of Hungarian people, from our economy, and from our future. At the same time, I believe that all nations share an interest in fair and transparent international cooperation. The quality of future relations also depends on whether corruption and criminal behavior are given shelter or not.
Therefore, I ask world leaders: please do not become a safe haven for those fleeing accountability. Integrity and justice are in our common interest.
Thank you for your attention.
