an apartment that integrates dedicated infrastructure for pets into a minimalist, “international green” aesthetic. Located in a high-density urban context, the apartment was redesigned to prioritize flow and light, specifically addressing the cohabitation needs of a client, their dog, and their cat
The focal point of the living area is a continuous, mint color plywood cat run that snakes along the perimeter wall. This custom shelving unit functions as a high-altitude circulation path for the feline resident, doubling as a library and display shelf for the owner. Directly below the media console, a built-in “dog grotto” provides a recessed, architectural den for the canine, keeping the floor plan clear of freestanding pet furniture
To maximize the footprint, the designers replaced the guest bedroom’s solid masonry wall and door with a glass sliding door system. This intervention allows natural light to pe*****te deep into the apartment’s foyer, which was previously windowless
