Well, I have some exciting news to share! 🥹

Accessories by Lipa is officially a FINALIST for Best Digital Presence at the Northeast Business Awards 2026! 🎉❤️

When I started this little business, I had so much to learn about the world of online selling, websites, digital marketing and everything that comes with it. And believe me, I'm still learning! 😂

From building my website and creating content to figuring things out as I go (usually with a few late nights thrown in!), it's been a journey of trial and error, determination and a whole lot of heart.

So to have that work recognised in this particular category genuinely means so much to me. ❤️

I also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me during the recent public voting. Every vote, message, share and word of encouragement meant more than you know.

Whatever happens at the awards ceremony in November, I'm already incredibly proud to have made it this far.

What a day ❤️

I’m home from another amazing day at The Cottage Market and just feeling incredibly grateful.

Thank you to every single person who stopped by my stall today, whether you bought a bundle, came over for a chat, shared what you’ve been reading, came to say hello, or took a moment to scan my little sign and vote for Accessories by Lipa in the Northeast Business Awards. Every bit of support genuinely means so much to me.

It was especially lovely to see so many familiar faces, friends and returning customers, and even some of my online customers who chose to come along and shop with me in person while supporting the market too. ❤️

A huge thank you to Eimear, Vicky and everyone behind The Cottage Market Drogheda. You should be so proud of what you’ve created. And to all the other amazing vendors, thank you for the chats, encouragement and support. There’s such a lovely sense of community at these markets, not just from the people who visit but between the small businesses too.

Days like today remind me that this little handmade business is about so much more than selling books. It’s the conversations, the familiar faces, meeting new people, talking about books and seeing people come back again.

Thank you for supporting my little business, for supporting handmade, for supporting local, and for making today such a special one.

This year, I decided to enter Accessories by Lipa into the Northeast Business Awards, and I’ve been shortlisted in the Customer Focus category!

This one feels especially special to me because so much of my little business is about the people who have become part of it. Whether it’s meeting you at a local market, chatting online about books, exchanging opinions and recommendations, hearing your stories, or helping you find something special, those little conversations and connections are a huge part of why I love what I do.

It’s all in the little details… 📚

You might have noticed that I don’t often share the finished covers of my Blind Date with a Book bundles on here and there’s a reason for that.

The surprise is such a big part of the experience and I want the person receiving each book to be the first to see what I’ve created for them.

Every book is different. I design each cover around the story inside, taking inspiration from its atmosphere, colours and little details. The accessories and ephemera that go with it are created with that same book in mind, so everything comes together as one experience.

Of course, that also means I don’t get to show you most of my finished work! 😂

So instead, I thought I’d start sharing more of the little handmade details that happen along the way… a glimpse here, a little clue there. 👀

Just never enough to spoil the final surprise. 🤫📚

Because for me, Blind Date with a Book isn’t just about hiding the title. It’s about creating a whole experience around the story before you even discover what’s inside.

And one of the loveliest things I’ve heard from customers is that sometimes that little bit of mystery and excitement has helped them rediscover the joy of reading again. 🥹

Maybe sometimes we just need a little surprise to make us excited about picking up a book again...

What a lovely day at the The Cottage Market Drogheda today! 📚

One of my favourite things about doing markets is meeting so many fellow readers. Getting to chat about favourite books, genres, authors and all the books you’ve loved (and sometimes the ones you really didn’t 😂) is such an incredible feeling.

I’ve had so many returning customers stop by today, which honestly means the world to me. And it was extra special to meet some of my online customers in person who came down to see me! 🥰

Accessories by Lipa started with my love of books and creativity, but days like today remind me that it’s the people and the conversations around books that make it so special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted, bought a book, shared a recommendation or simply said hello. You made my day. 📚💕

And thank you to the Cottage Market team for another lovely market and to all the wonderful vendors for making it such a great day. It's always a pleasure being part of it!

5 stars from some very happy readers… ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve always been a little reluctant to share customer reviews and lovely messages here. 🙈 I think because my focus has always been on making the orders, choosing the books and putting all the little details together, rather than talking about what people have said afterwards.

But I’ve received so many wonderful reviews and messages and they genuinely mean more to me than I can put into words, so I thought it was finally time to share a few. 🥹💕

There’s so much thought, care and handmade detail that goes into each Blind Date with a Book. From choosing a book I hope will find the right reader, to designing and making the bookmarks, ephemera, paper details and little surprises myself, every bundle is put together by hand with the hope that it feels genuinely special to open.

I think that’s one of my favourite parts of what I do sitting down and actually making the little things that will eventually become part of someone’s reading experience. 📚

So when someone comes back to tell me they’ve discovered a new favourite, got back into reading, found the perfect gift, or simply had the loveliest time opening their mystery book… it honestly makes my day.

These reviews are such a wonderful reminder that all those little details really do matter. ❤️

So, for once, I’m going to let myself celebrate a little and share some of the lovely things my customers have kindly said about their Blind Dates. 🥰
