The customer had already had a local locksmith out, who told them the doors couldn’t be opened and would need to be replaced. 😳💰

🚨 EMERGENCY CALL-OUT – DOOR NOT LOCKING 🔐🚪 | JOB COMPLETE ✅

Our last emergency call-out before we finish up for the holidays — a customer contacted us because their door would not lock or secure properly.

🔎 On inspection, we found the door was tilted and leaning heavily towards the right-hand side. The door had moved out of alignment, putting serious pressure on the locking points and mechanism.

After speaking with the customer, we learned the door was already fitted before they moved into the property. Unfortunately, when the walls were later built up beside the door, they were actually built partly over the hinge covers. 😬

This made the adjustment a little more complicated. We had to carefully remove the hinge covers and modify the backs of the caps so that, once the door was properly realigned, we could refit them and still leave everything looking neat and finished. 👌

🛠️ We got to work:
✅ Fully adjusted & realigned the door
✅ Corrected the lean/drop
✅ Door now sealing properly
✅ Locking securely again 🔐
✅ Locking mechanism fully oiled & serviced
✅ Hinge covers modified and neatly refitted
✅ Everything tested and working perfectly

⚠️ A badly aligned door can become an expensive repair if left too long. When you have to pull or force the handle to get a door to lock, that extra pressure is being transferred directly onto the multipoint locking mechanism. Eventually, the mechanism can fail completely.

Thankfully, we caught this one in time and got everything back working without having to replace the locking mechanism, saving the customer a more expensive repair. 💶👏

🚨 THE LAST JOB BEFORE WE OFFICIALLY FINISH UP FOR THE HOLIDAYS! 🔧🚪

Just when we thought we were finished… one last emergency call came in! 📞😅

We’re heading out to a customer whose door has completely stopped locking, meaning they can’t secure their home or comfortably go to bed tonight. 🔐🏠

So, holiday mode is on hold for another little while! 😂 We’re going to get out, diagnose the problem and hopefully get that door secure, locking and working properly tonight. 💪🔧

Once this one is sorted, that is officially us finished until we’re back from holidays! ☀️✈️🏖️

🚨 EMERGENCY DOOR REPAIR – JOB COMPLETE! 🚪🔧

Here’s the finished result from our emergency call-out today. When we arrived, these French doors were in serious need of repair.

❌ There were only 2 hinges fitted to each door
❌ One door had the top hinge completely broken
❌ The other door had the bottom hinge broken
⚠️ This meant each door was basically hanging on just ONE working hinge!

We carried out a full hinge replacement on both doors and upgraded them by fitting a 3rd hinge to each door for extra strength and support. 💪🔩

We also:
✨ Replaced the badly corroded white handle with a new chrome-finished handle
🛠️ Fully realigned and adjusted both doors
🔒 Got them locking correctly again
🌬️ Got them sealing properly
✅ Doors now opening and closing perfectly

Another emergency repair completed without the customer having to replace their doors. 👌

EMERGENCY DOOR REPAIR – BURST HINGES! 🚪🔧

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to head away on holidays this morning due to my son being in hospital, but hopefully all going well we’ll get away tomorrow. ❤️🙏

In the meantime, we’re still out getting this emergency job sorted!

We received an emergency call-out to a home in Donnybrook where a lady’s French doors had completely jammed shut. 🔒🚪

🪟🔧 FULL WINDOW REFURBISHMENT – CARLOW 🔧🪟

Today we’re down in Carlow carrying out a full refurbishment on the windows of a home recently purchased by a lovely couple. 🏡

The windows were in need of some TLC, so we’re giving them a proper overhaul rather than replacing what can be repaired. 💪

The doors are also getting new locks and new hinges. During the job we discovered the door hinges needed replacing too, so we’ll be returning to complete those and finish everything properly. 🚪🔐
