When we say hand knotted rugs, what do we actually mean? 🧵

We mean thousands of hours, centuries of tradition and an incredible level of human skill. Unlike machine-made rugs, every single knot in a hand-knotted rug is tied individually by hand on a vertical loom.

Some rugs can have up to 300 knots per square inch, which means millions of individual decisions made by an artisan to bring a single design to life over several months.
