Have you been meaning to give crochet a try? Here's your chance!⁠

We're teaming up with our upstairs neighbours at for a FREE Intro to Crochet workshop, as part of !⁠

We'll start with the classic granny square, exploring a little of crochet's history along the way. There'll be live demonstrations and plenty of help to get you started, so no previous experience is needed.⁠
⁠
You'll also get to explore Symbiosis, the gallery's current exhibition by textile artist Yanis Miltgen, featuring a wonderful mix of knitting, crochet, embroidery and sculpture.⁠

The workshop is free, but spaces are limited, so booking is essential.⁠

Yesterday we shared our first adventures with granny squares, inspired by ’s new book. Making them was great fun, but now comes the slightly less exciting part… blocking!⁠

Although, with this handy Granny Square Blocker from Katia, even that looks pretty satisfying!⁠
⁠
The wooden board comes with metal pegs to help keep your squares neat and evenly sized, and you can block several at once. There’s even a built-in ruler and a little tray to keep everything organised.⁠
⁠
Now, a question for all you experienced crocheters! What are your best tips for blocking granny squares? Any advice for someone just getting started? We’d love to hear it!⁠

Two hexagons, one very cosy cardigan 🧶⁠

Lisa crocheted the Hexagon Cardigan by , a free crochet pattern, using Børstet Alpakka by .⁠
⁠
She made a couple of tweaks along the way, skipping the hood and adding a little more volume to the sleeves for a puffier finish. We love how it turned out!⁠
