During maternity leave, I discovered the world of keepsake creation and was inspired to transform meaningful garments into lasting, comforting pieces — from my mum’s clothes to my own baby’s first outfits. This experience led me to establish My Beloved Keepsakes, where I now support families across Ireland in preserving their most treasured memories. I hold a QLS Level 3 Sewing Diploma (Distinction), which underpins my work with strong technical skills in garment construction, pattern work, hand‑stitching, fabric handling, and sensitive restoration. Every item I create is crafted with care, respect, and attention to detail, ensuring each piece reflects the emotional significance behind the fabric. My business is proudly neurodivergent‑led, rooted in compassion💕, sustainability♻️, and thoughtful craftsmanship🧵. I collaborate with families and funeral homes to offer comfort through beautifully made, personalised keepsakes — whether created from a loved one’s clothing, a baby’s first clothes, or uniforms that represent years of service, identity, or pride. Today is deeply personal to me.

Before creating keepsakes for others, I experienced the heartbreak of losing a baby of my own. For me, it is a loss that never truly leaves. Over time, I have found ways to carry it, but the love remains, and so does the longing for what might have been.

That experience is one of the reasons My Beloved Keepsakes means so much to me. I understand how precious memories become and how meaningful it can be to have something tangible to hold close. I also know that not every family has a photograph, an item of clothing or a keepsake. Your love and your loss matter just as much.

Today, I remember my own baby and every baby who was loved beyond measure and died too soon.

To every parent, grandparent, sibling and family member carrying loss, whether recent or many years ago, please know you are not alone. Your baby mattered. Your baby is remembered. Your love will always remain.

As the International Wave of Light begins this evening at 7pm, I will be lighting a candle for my own little one and all the little lives held forever in our hearts.

If it feels right for you, join me by lighting a candle or taking a quiet moment to remember. There is no expectation to share—remembering privately is just as meaningful.

A father’s love has sparked a powerful campaign, close to my heart.

After the stillbirth of his son, Hunter, on 15 October, which is also Infant Loss Awareness Day, Hunter's dad is calling on the Late Late Toy Show to include a Christmas remembrance tree light blue and pink for infant loss awareness to dedicated to babies and children who have died.

His hope is simple: that bereaved families see their children acknowledged and remembered during a season that can be especially difficult. A small gesture, but one that could mean so much to families carrying the love and memory of a child who is no longer here.
