Not a very productive evening in the workshop, just got a couple of rollerballs turned. The pen in the video is a nice piece of Plum. Also 3d printed a few resin casting blanks for casting next week.

Another one of my poured blanks paired with a Churchill style fountain pen kit from Strongink Pen Kits . Got a good saturation of colour and swirling, but the epoxy resin didn't set to its normal level and gets a little rubber like if you introduce too much heat while turning or sanding. I guess it was just past it's best.

Gotta love some spalted maple, the contrast between the heartwood and sapwood with the black spalt lines makes it one of my favourites for pens. Paired with a Strongink Pen Kits Churchill style fountain pen kit in black and chrome, makes for a beautiful writing experience.

Irish Oak in all it's glory, paired up with a brass rollerball kit. The kit was another amazon purchase and while it's nicely manufactured, it has two drawbacks: the threads are pre-fitted in the sleeve so it's a difficult mount on the lathe and second the tolerance at either end for mounting the click fit cap is too small at about 0.5 mm, so tge wood gets real thin.Irish Oak in all it's glory, paired up with a brass rollerball kit.
