Shared to my stories earlier … two long seascape / coastal pieces (in the hands of the post ) heading west to one of my stockists . Part two of an order. I’ve been extremely busy, creating several pieces of various sizes for different stockists over the past six weeks or so . And during the really hot spell of weather too !! But I’m near the end of it . These two pieces are similar in style but the sky is a different shade of blue in each and the placement of rocks on the shore and out at sea 🌊
Green has been a very popular colour of choice among customers so far this year. I’m so used to focusing on sea and sky but adding land and other touches to what usually are just seascapes has been interesting. Who knows I might inject a pop of purple or try something different next . Materials used are merino wool fibres, spun silk, bamboo , recycled denim, linen, handmade paper, seashells and glass beads . I’ve signed … have you?
So far there has been 17,000 signatures in just 3 days fromCreatives/ small businesses across Europe .
If you don’t want to see packaging laws come into effect sign here .. new packaging laws coming into effect August 12th with different laws / costs for different countries making it more expensive on small businesses and more rising costs . With many more then likely stopping shipping their product to EU countries . I use sustainable packaging by recycling packaging but just read it to understand it better . First US tax/shipping rate rises now this !!

A peep 👀 at a few minis in Part 1 of an order heading out this coming week to Cronins of Kinsale. There are thirty six altogether, three of each title but each one is slightly different and unique! No two or should I say no three are exactly the same . All are original pieces of textile art They do come framed see slide 3 , as I forgot to photograph them before I framed them . Then have some larger pieces to follow .
Still very busy , have more heading out next week too. And my jewellery chains are arriving on Monday, yay 🙌🏻 unfortunately that new collection had to be put on hold as I was very busy during July creating top ups for stockists. It’s been a busy summer .. thank god ! Here’s hoping they all find new homes ! (Excuse any shadows on images) I will also have an update soon on lamps / lampshades and what is in-store next for them . Gráinne 🩵🌊

A new delivery of my ‘Mini’ mixed media textile Seastudies have just recently been delivered to ‘The Top Drawer’, Keel, Achill Island.
I have been stocked here since last summer and all of the pieces are based on the beautiful turquoise blue shores of Achill.

🩵💙 OMG … Loving my new resin jewellery gift boxes !!! I went with a dark blue box this time for a little added luxury touch and kept the same teal blue foiled logo as on my original white boxes . As mentioned previously, I have a new collection of ‘golden ‘ coloured sea inspired jewellery launching this month . I’ve been very busy with my textile art. pictures for stockist orders (never stops .. it’s the busy season !) but when I get some breathing space .. this collection will be next on the agenda . There are a few new shapes but I’ll be launching each at different stages. Thank you you did a wonderful job as always . 🩵💙

Allow me to re introduce myself to any new followers and current ones who might want to put a face to the name .
This is me , I’m Gráinne 🙂 hi 👋🏻. I might want to brush up on my video creative skills but I do try !!! 🤣 it’s not as easy as it looks. I don’t do these types of videos often .
So a quick recap about me ..
I started Gráinne Kenny Design in 2012, I am fourteen years in business in January just gone .
I have a background in both Hand Weaving and Mixed Media Textiles
I studied Textile Design in both Ireland and in the Uk.
I lived in Falmouth in Cornwall for four years from 2003-2007 and got my BA and Masters in Textiie Design over there .
I also went to GMIT and Grennan Mill in Thomastown a mere … let’s just say a Long time ago!!!
I am from Gorey in Wexford
My work is stocked in various stockists and galleries across Ireland 🇮🇪 many of them in the south and west of the country.
I am a member of DCCOI and design Ireland / Made local etc ..
I love the sea (as if you haven’t guessed !) you will often spot me on the far beach at Ballymoney usually taking photographs . The seashore is my happy place . It’s my inspiration.
I am also inspired by the colours and patterns of flowers 🌺 (I work in a garden centre too) amongst lots of lovely things !
I absolutely love what I do. The main thing in life is this … so long as you are happy and doing well that’s all that matters. My art is not a hobby, it is a business!
This summer I’m launching a few new products with a gorgeous line of new ‘golden’ sea inspired resin pendants .. I can’t wait to drop that once my new gift boxes arrive ! It’s very different to what I have been doing .. and lots more exciting stuff will be underway too a busy season ahead !

The mini framed textile sea studies are becoming a bestseller among my stockists this season. They are the perfect size for a small gift that won’t break the bank . All textile mini studies are original pieces of textile art and retail at €40.00 . This selection shown below is a new delivery of mini sea studies that are available from Anchor in Ardmore , Co. Waterford . Located just below the picturesque Cliff house hotel that overlooks the beach at Ardmore. I have been stocked here since 2017 and the minis have become firm favourites among visitors . It is also the perfect size to fit into your hand luggage if travelling home or away by plane ✈️

Been busy with stockist orders as of late and continue to be at the moment .
New mini artwork will be on its way to Anchor, Ardmore in Waterford from next week and also to O’Briens Craftshop in Doolin , Co. Clare
So new textile art will be arriving to both places soon!
In other news, I’m shaking up my resin jewellery collection by launching a new collection of 18k gold plated pendants staying with an ocean 🌊 theme in new luxury deep blue boxes.
I’m excited to get going on that and I’ve a few other things up my sleeve coming soon too !
