🌿From decades in the damp to a future back in the heart of the home.🌿
Our next major workshop project has just arrived, and it is an absolute treasure! This beautiful antique table, featuring incredibly intricate, decorative wood inlay and a stunning carved pedestal base, has unfortunately seen many seasons of Irish weather while stored away.
The top has suffered severe moisture damage, flaking veneer, and surface wear—but the history trapped underneath those layers is completely priceless. We have been entrusted by its owners to breathe life back into this wonderful piece so it can once more be used, loved, and continue to maintain the family history for generations to come.

Adapting as We Go: With antiques this weathered, you have to let the wood talk to you. We have a few design and finish ideas in mind, but we will only truly know what’s working as we peel back the layers and move through the process!
We are incredibly excited to see the end results of this journey. 💚

🌿Passing down family heirlooms🌿

It doesn’t mean keeping them stuck in the past—it’s about reimagining them for the next generation. With a professional restoration, those well-loved pieces can become the vibrant, joyful centre piece of your child's bedroom.

By swapping tired, worn-out fabrics for vibrant, kid-friendly colours and trading standard hardware for whimsical, mismatched k***s, we inject a sense of wonder and excitement that sparks a child's imagination. It transforms a heavy, old piece of history into a playful, interactive part of their daily world.

🌿 Why Kids (and Parents) Love Restored Heirlooms🌿
• Instant Joy & Excitement: The eye-catching apple green fabric and playful floral k***s turn standard furniture into an imaginative, storybook feature.
• Built to Survive Playtime: Vintage furniture is crafted from robust, solid wood that easily withstands the bumps and tumbles of growing kids.
• A Meaningful Connection: Your children get to use the exact same furniture you or your parents grew up with, keeping family memories alive in a fresh, modern way.

So if you have furniture that is precious to you, get in touch we would be delighted to help. 💚

🌿The Big Reveal! 🌿
Remember the cupboard we showed you on Monday? The one with the completely rotten base that had us wondering if we were looking through rose-tinted glasses?

Well, today is Friday, and we are absolutely thrilled to show you the final transformation!

This wasn't just a standard clean up—it was a true labour of love. We completely cut out the damage and rebuilt a brand-new, stable base from scratch, ensuring this massive piece is structurally sound and made to last for decades to come. While it took a lot of hours and patience, we were determined to preserve its history. We even managed to clean, restore, and keep those gorgeous original handles, keeping the true character of the cupboard alive.
This beautiful piece has now officially returned to its old home, ready to be loved and used by the next generation. Seeing our client’s emotional, happy reaction when they saw it returned to life made every single minute of hard work completely worth it. ❤️
Thank you for trusting us with your family memories!

🌿The French Connection🌿
When rescuing furniture, it is always a careful balancing act. We have to weigh up the immense amount of work involved and realistically assess what can be saved versus what needs a total rebuild. But if a piece has good bones and a story to tell, we are always willing to try!
We will be working on restoring these beauties for sale over the next few weeks, fitting them in between our current customer commissions. If you fall in love with either of these and want to make them your own with a custom finish, get in touch let us know!
P.S. This is just the beginning of our French Connection—we have two more stunning pieces from this exact same collection that we can’t wait to show you next week. Stay tuned!

🌿When the things you learned at school start to make sense. 🌿
As a student abstract numbers on a whiteboard just wouldn’t click. I couldn't see the point, and I thought I just didn't have a "maths brain."
But looking at my workbench today, I realised something: I use maths every single day.
Now in my later life Woodworking has helped me to understand measurements, angles, symmetry, and spatial logic. When the numbers became physical lines on a piece of oak, they suddenly made perfect sense.
To anyone struggling in a traditional classroom, or anyone who thinks they "aren't smart enough" for a subject: You might just need to find your application. Some of us don't learn by listening; we learn by doing.
Find your craft, find your practical connection, and watch the pieces click into place. 🪵🔨

🌿Some furniture isn't just wood and fabric—it’s pure family history🌿

This beautiful dining set has seen generations of Christmas dinners, birthday celebrations, and unforgettable family moments. But over the years, the table top has become heat damaged and the varnish has cracked.
Because this piece means so much to the family, we got to work:
The Table Top: We skipped the heavy machines and completely hand-sanded the surface. This let us safely strip the ruined old varnish, get a perfectly consistent finish on the vintage wood veneer, and—most importantly—keep that gorgeous, original gold ri***ng intact.
The Chairs: Every single chair was carefully sanded down, and the beautiful gold detailing was meticulously cleaned to make it pop again.
The Seats: Out with the old, tired fabric and in with fresh, premium reupholstery
Now, this sentimental heirloom is officially ready to serve and celebrate decades of new family moments to come. 🥂

Have a sentimental family heirloom sitting in a garage or dining room that needs a second chance at life? Don't let those memories fade!

Beyond Restoration: A New Chapter Unfolds 🌿
Last week, we celebrated the beauty of vintage veneer, but sometimes, even with the best care, it's time to let go and start anew.
Here's a stunning example of transformation!
When damage has gone too far, we can still honour the past by creating a fresh, new beginning.
The tabletop veneer layer was carefully removed, the base prepped, and a new board, meticulously matched to the original, was laid on top. Then, it was stained to perfection, blending seamlessly with the table's original finish.
And so, this treasured family heirloom begins its next chapter, ready to be passed down to the next generation. 💫

Sometimes a piece needs a total refresh rather than a quick repair—and that’s exactly what we do. 💚
