Before & After : The Petit Powerhouse

A utility punching well above its weight - in asthete and function.

See the before and after of this pocket room.

We found space under the stairs to knock into for the washer / dryer.

Given the amount of light and air flow, we could close up a small window for cabinetry.

A new glass door from the kitchen shares wonderful light and a subtle glimpse of this dreamy space, adding a new sense of space and aspect from the kitchen.

Old-world but whimsy, this is my favourite room in a recent project in the Terenure home of a connoisseur couple.

Elegant, charming and so so comfy, we mixed the elegant architectural features with layers of texture and tone, the original honeyed timber floorboard and doors lend warmth and authenticity.

Sized burnt ochre velvet armchairs and a buttery mustard occasional chair add a rich, autumnal depth and contrast. Laid back blue alcove cabinets in Selvedge by Farrow and Ball carry items of personality and character.
Timeless, inviting and effortlessly composed — a room designed as much for conversation as for comfort and contemplation. Captured by

An intimate snug, an extension of the kitchen and dining area, is a room to retreat and unwind. The atmosphere is cocooning yet refined, soothed in the soft, warm beige of Cord. Our furnishings and upholstery follow a cohesive, organic theme with nods to nature and botanicals.

Let’s talk Utilities and Pantries.

Generally small, they have to be mighty. Key ingredients? Practical, functional and beautiful, even during it’s most hardworking moments.

We see the aesthetic as important as the function - To bring a sense of space, organisation and calm, we want to marry the look, the style, and the purpose.

Creativity and decor aren’t always at the planning table - experienced interior design input fulfils this important role. Here’s a selection of some of these mighty spaces from some of our recent home renovations, working with exceptional suppliers.

Powder Room Perfect

Our charming, intimate WC bathed in warm, romantic tones. This one never fails to make us smile ❤️

The walls are painted the rich terracotta of Picture Gallery Red, with ogee panels adding texture, quiet sophistication and depth. An ornate mirror framed in antique silver reflects the gentle glow of two elegant wall sconces. A classic checkered black-and-white floor grounds the scene, balancing warmth with quiet contrast.

Swipe for the before of this family hallway, showing the progress to create a bigger, disguised, cloakroom.

A hollow, dull corner portion was redesigned and built out to add congruence and balance to the hallway, and in doing so created a valuable, disguised tall storage room.

We replaced the marfil crème floor with a warm oak hardwood, and we added proportion with colour and palette, using Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra Blue on the lower wall panels contrasting softly with an off-white above and across the ceiling.
