A cottage full of character.

We wanted this home to feel as though it had evolved over time, celebrating the original architecture rather than competing with it.

Exposed timber beams, soft colour, patterned wallpapers, natural stone, aged brass and antique pieces bring warmth and soul throughout. From the copper bath to the little curtained bunks and the blue kitchen, every space has its own personality while still feeling connected.

1. Proportion
Getting the scale right is everything. Panelling should feel balanced within the room, working with the ceiling height, doors, windows and furniture.

2. Architecture
The best panelling feels like it has always belonged. We use it to enhance the architecture of a space, adding depth, character and structure.

3. Simplicity
Don’t overcomplicate it. Simple, well-proportioned panelling will always feel more timeless than something overly detailed.

It’s one of those details that can completely transform a room when it’s done well.

I’m so excited to be taking part in Design Week Dublin this September.

On Wednesday 16th September, I’ll be giving my talk, Soul Led, sharing the journey from growing up surrounded by antiques and craftsmanship to building Geri Designs, finding my own design language and where we’re heading next.

There’s something particularly special about speaking on the same day, just after Jasper Conran. My dad sold antiques to Jasper through Jamb London over the years, so it feels like one of those lovely full-circle moments. I know he would have been so proud.

I’ll also be joining the Interior Design Round Table on Thursday alongside some brilliant Irish designers.

A rainy evening feels like the perfect time to share this moody bolt-away basement bar from our Estate Residence project.

Rich, warm colours, beautiful Connemara marble, dark timber and luscious fabrics create a space that feels completely cocooning. Layered with soft pools of light, it’s designed to feel intimate and atmospheric.

Our home, three years on.

This first image feels particularly special to me. The antique Irish 18th century hall table was a gift from my dad, and I love that it has found its place here.

I still can’t quite believe he’s been gone a year. But I’m beginning to realise just how much of him lives on in me, especially in my love of interiors. He had the most incredible eye for antiques and beautiful furniture, and such an appreciation for pieces that were well made, full of character and crafted to last.

So much of what I love about design came from him. The old mixed with the new, craftsmanship, quality, pieces with history and a story to tell.

In a neutral kitchen, there’s always room for a hero moment that lifts the entire space.

Here, we chose statement stools upholstered in a beautiful Pierre Frey fabric, bringing just the right amount of contrast, pattern and personality to an otherwise light and fresh palette.

Sometimes, it’s that one unexpected detail that brings the whole room to life.
