49 years ago during a record breaking heatwave in New York the serial killer David Berkhovitz was caught. This victorian stool was last upholstered then. Im recovering it 49 years later during our own heatwave and reading about his exploits all these years later.

This is my stove hack for the summer. Get that fire effect without the heat! I've been lining mine with tin foil the last few summers. You'd be surprised by how much illumination you get out of it. Just clean out the ash, give the glass a clean and line with foil. Give it a try tomorrow night.

Early 1990s 2 seater couch given some new fabric and a new lease of life. Lots of details and piping on this and a pattern to match too! If you look closely on the lower panels and cushions and piping i did my best to match all the pattern where panels meet. Probably a thankless job where nobody would notice but I would! The pre 2000s frames are definetly built to last. This frame is a combination of beech frame and plywood and well constructed. Definetly worth recovering.

This is one of my grandfather john Quinn wheels which ive started putting outside the workshop lately. His workshop was behind his home place on Stafford street, He operated as a wheelwright, trap maker and carpenter up to the late sixties when he passed away a few years before I was born. My father Sean, his son operated his mechanics business at the same location. Thats 3 generations of John's at the same location.I placed the wheel roughly at the same spot as the original picture. The old workshop doesn't exist anymore and the new wall i constructed in 1996. 30 years ago. If you look closely I incorporated a slate hand into the wall on the upper left. It came from Killoran slate Quarry where my grandfather was born in the 1898. A little tribute to the grandfather i never knew.
