What a month! Here’s a little look at what made August one for The Event Edit memory scrapbook.

Event of the Month: A wedding at The Europe - there’s luxury and then there’s this!
Most Popular: Bell tents! We loved creating a super cool bell tent setup for a 21st birthday.

BTS: Going to Miami. And not for a holiday. Mick and l have been to Miami to attend a business growth event, where we'll be learning from some of the very best in the industry.

Although our background is in childcare, great businesses all have one thing in common—they create exceptional experiences. That's exactly what we want to continue building here at The Event Edit.

We truly believe that if you stop learning, you stop growing. Every conference, every conversation and every new idea is another opportunity to come home inspired and raise the bar even higher.

Our goal has never been to simply provide a service. We want every celebration we create to become a lasting memory for the families who trust us with their special moments.

Most children's entertainment is designed for the loudest, busiest version of fun. And for so many little guests, that's exactly what makes a celebration too much.

This is the part of planning that gets overlooked, and it's the part we care about most.

Carina's 15 years in early years education, including running inclusive childcare settings, means designing for neurodiverse children isn't an add-on for us. There's a real buzz that comes with setting up at a venue for the first time, and Beaufort House gave us exactly that last month.

When the team arrived and the doors opened, we had that lovely first moment of taking it all in, from the light to the space to the little corners we already knew we could turn into something magical. It's a bit like being handed a blank canvas with a whole day of possibility stretching out ahead of you.

This was our first event at Beaufort House - a 40th birthday celebration for a family travelling from the US - and we'd been looking forward to it for weeks. There's always something special about a first, because you walk the space a little differently and notice every detail, and the whole team gets that familiar flutter of excitement that honestly never fades no matter how many setups we've done. Every family celebration matters just as much as the last.

So here's to Beaufort House, the first of many we hope, and to the family who trusted us to set up their event.

Plot twist: our movie sleepover igloo isn't just for birthdays. 👀

Some of our favourite bookings are the unexpected ones...

🎓 The end-of-exams treat, because they earned a proper reward.

👑 The weekend the cousins come to stay and you want to make it special.

🌧️ The rainy Kerry day when the walls are closing in and everyone needs rescuing.

🤍 The "just because" surprise (honestly, the best kind).

A little look back at Flesk Fest, and what it really meant to us.

We moved to Killarney from London, back to roots that were always here waiting for us. There's a particular kind of pull that brings you home, and when it came, we followed it.

Building The Event Edit in Kerry has always been about more than starting a business. It was about planting ourselves in a community we wanted to be part of, and one we wanted our own children to grow up in. Every setup, every celebration, every early morning and late-night takedown has been part of that.

So to have become a trusted name for event setups across the county, and to have been recognised as Kerry Business Woman for Services at the Connect Kerry Women in Business Awards, means more than we can properly say. What we treasure is what it reflects: a community that welcomed us, trusted us, and let us become part of its celebrations.

Days like Flesk Fest are where it all comes together. The chance to show up, dress the marquee, bring a little joy (and a couple of alpacas), and give something back to the place that has given us so much.

We're into August, and if the holidays are starting to feel long... you're not on your own.

The camps are booked out or finished. The "I'm bored" has become a chorus. And there's still a good stretch of summer to fill before the school bags come back out.

So here's the one that actually changes the week.

With three kids ourselves, we know the days that need rescuing. Our midweek igloo setup gives them a cosy, weatherproof world of their own for a couple of days... movie nights, hangouts, somewhere that feels like an event rather than the same four walls. Think of it as the camp alternative, except this one comes to you and there's no 8am drop-off.

And you? You get your week back. The house stays calm, the energy stays contained, and you finally get to take a breath (or get back to work if you're anything like us).

These are the last of the summer dates, and once they're gone, they're gone.

A children's space at a wedding doesn’t have to mean breaking the look you worked so hard to create.

For Sinéad and Johnny's day at Muckross Park Hotel, we designed a dedicated children's room that gave little guests everything they needed... sensory play, chill-out zones, room to rest... without a single primary-coloured plastic anything in sight.

This is something we feel strongly about. Your youngest guests deserve a space that's considered, calm, and beautiful, styled to sit seamlessly within your venue and your vision. Soft palettes, natural textures, thoughtful details that make it look like part of the celebration.
