This video shows Simba being precision point etched onto polished black granite before the finished design is hand-painted to bring out every detail. Testing new artwork like this helps us achieve the highest quality results for memorials, plaques and bespoke granite pieces.

A damp day in Cork means it’s the perfect time to get some granite etching done! 🌧️🪦

This Kilkenny limestone headstone is anything but ordinary. The face has been carefully bush hammered to create a textured finish, while the inscription is bold, large, and entirely hand carved — giving it a timeless, deeply personal character.

Before a single letter was cut, the process began with mapping the existing font. Each letterform was studied, measured to ensure consistency, spacing, and flow. Getting this stage right is everything — it guarantees that the final carving feels balanced and true to the original style.

From layout to final chisel work, every step is done by hand, right here in Cork, Ireland, respecting both the material and the memory it represents.
