Stellar Nebula is a family of lamps designed by BIG for Artemide to interpret and enhance the art of glassblowing through innovative PVD finishing techniques. The values, roles, and boundaries of industrial and artisanal production lie at the heart of this design concept, which aims to express a new idea of productive uniqueness.

The diffusers’ shapes are created through a glassblowing process. Craftsmanship and industrial innovation merge in the beauty of the material, revealing the magical interaction between glass and light.

A design icon, reinterpreted to celebrate a lasting legacy.

Designed by Gianfranco Frattini in 1979, Megaron embodies a precise vision of light and space. Its essential architectural form and indirect light have made it one of Artemide’s most enduring designs, remaining relevant across generations while evolving through innovation.

To mark the 100th anniversary of Gianfranco Frattini’s birth, Artemide presents a special commemorative edition of Megaron. Distinguished by an exclusive red finish and engraved with the inscription “Gianfranco Frattini 100”, this edition pays tribute to the designer’s legacy through one of his most iconic creations.

Now updated with LED technology while remaining faithful to its original identity, Megaron continues to express the timeless dialogue between design, innovation and light.

Product Focus: J.Adams & Co. | DETAILS IN THE MAKING

Details matter. Every component in their luminaires has a story.

This week, we’re taking you behind the scenes of their Strata endcaps — from raw brass to the finished detail that completes the pendant.

01 / HOT BRASS STAMPING

It all starts with solid brass.

Brass billets are heated in a furnace before being placed between two moulds. A 35-tonne force is then applied, forging the brass into its initial ‘donut’ form.

02 / MACHINING

The newly forged forms are cut precisely in half, with the internal details machined using CNC milling. The two individual pieces are designed to interlock with precision, creating the endcap shape.

03 / FINISHING

Each part is satin-polished before being dipped in a patination solution to create a deep bronze surface.

The finish can then be carefully rubbed back by hand to achieve an antique effect, or dipped again for our signature bronze finish. A final coat of lacquer protects the surface.

04 / ASSEMBLY

The two halves are fixed together to complete the endcap, ready to be hand-fitted into position as the final stage in assembling the Strata Pendant.

05 / THE END RESULT

The finished endcap seamlessly wraps the cylindrical form of Strata’s reeded glass tubes back onto itself.

Clean. Refined. Considered.

And beneath that simplicity lies a many-layered process of craft, precision and attention to detail.

Lighting the way at Zurich Insurance’s Dublin workplace.

Dlight supplied a selection of lighting fixtures for Zurich Insurance’s new headquarters at 76 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin 2, bringing considered illumination to a contemporary workplace overlooking the River Liffey.

Working alongside the project team, we supplied Vibia Tempo and Kontorno pendants, complemented by linear lighting throughout meeting spaces.

The scheme works alongside warm tones, natural timber finishes and carefully detailed architectural elements. Vibia Tempo pendants add a refined decorative touch to reception and collaborative areas, while Kontorno brings a clean, contemporary presence to the meeting environment.

The result is a balanced lighting scheme designed to support the diverse needs of the modern workplace while contributing to the character and identity of the interiors.
