The giant Sequoia project at the האוניברסיטה העברית בירושלים comes to an end.
The ancient tree trunk is clean of moss and dirt. It absorbed 36 liters of oil! Students, staff and visitors can now see clearly into the past.
It was a pleasure interacting with the visitors who stopped to chat. Some remembered the day the tree trunk landed on campus, others thought it was a stone statue. A couple asked if it was a new item on display of the open museums since they never noticed it there before... And so many others who asked what we were doing, why and what can one learn by reading the rings of this fabulous trunk.
Staff members (Gali!), students and friends who volunteered were also excited to take part in this project. Thank you all for the help.
Thank you Jeff and Laura for having the crazy great idea of bringing this Trunk to the Hebrew U. Thank you Talia and Ariel for letting us touch this piece of history.
