Its a true challenge, to design "Holocaust".
Not to be too literal yet evoke an emotion; to connect the past with the present; not to do do too much nor too little.

January 29th. I hope to see you there.

Join us for a meaningful Holocaust Remembrance experience at the Coconut Creek Government Center, centered on reflection, education, and remembrance. Admission is free; however, advance registration is required for both components, and space is limited.

Cattle Car Exhibition
12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
The program begins with the Hate Ends Now Cattle Car Exhibition, an immersive and impactful educational experience located in the Government Center courtyard at 4800 West Copans Road. Visitors will step inside an authentic replica of a World War II cattle car, where survivor testimony, narration, and multimedia elements convey the inhumane conditions endured by millions during the Holocaust. The exhibit fosters reflection, dialogue, and a deeper understanding of the consequences of hatred, antisemitism, and intolerance.
Advance registration is required. Viewings are scheduled in 30-minute intervals, and time slots must be reserved at CoconutCreek.gov/CattleCar.

Holocaust Memorial Unveiling
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
The evening continues with the unveiling of the City’s first public Holocaust memorial installation at the Government Center. Titled Generations, the memorial was created by renowned artist Marit Meisler and is inspired by the Kindertransport. The work honors the resilience and enduring spirit of the Jewish people in the aftermath of the Holocaust and features silhouettes of children formed from solemn steel. These elements directly reference the Kindertransport memorials created by the artist’s father, Frank Meisler, creating a powerful multigenerational connection.
Advance registration is required, and seating is limited to 200 attendees. To register for the unveiling, please call 954-956-1580.

Both experiences are free and open to the public. Space is limited, and advance registration is required for each event.
