My mornings all start with a hot, strong oat milk coffee. My time is split between the office, being on-site, sourcing, problem-solving, or finding inspiration on a walk. Some days are spent entirely at my desk; others are spent running between client meetings and showrooms.

The best part of my day? When I hear that a client is happy. The hardest part? Sitting in 2.5 hours of Tel Aviv traffic! But if I can wrap up the day with a Pilates class, it’s a good day. But I have to say nothing’s really that hard when you love your job.

This Jerusalem family purchased their first home, and we designed it to be a warm, comfortable, and highly functional space.

Client Testimonial-
“Mallory Serebrin at Living Design is a gem.

She helped us remodel our first home with ease, grace, and a keen understanding of us and our needs. She was endlessly dedicated to the project, no detail was too small, and no question (from us) was too many. She is a deep listener and adapted her design to meet the real needs of our family.

Mallory has a fresh aesthetic matched with unwavering practicality- exactly what any client would want in a designer.” — D Berkowitz & L Morris

Lighting is the final layer that brings every texture, color, and architectural detail to life.

I recently had the pleasure of hosting Interior Design students from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design for a tour of Studio Lighting in Jerusalem. It was such an inspiring day, exploring how light can be sculpted and shaped to enhance the way we experience our homes.

For many students and designers alike, seeing the technical artistry behind the glow is a reminder that every fixture is a deliberate choice. Just like selecting the perfect fabric or tailoring a sofa, choosing the right light requires a balance between technical precision and aesthetic warmth.

As the next generation of designers, we explored how thoughtful illumination creates a home that feels personal and considered. Stay tuned for a look inside the studio in my upcoming reel.

Working with a family in Beit HaKerem on their kitchen renovation was such a rewarding experience. This family is an old-time Beit HaKerem Israeli family who is connected to the Jerusalem mid-century modern style.

The goal was to transform a dark, enclosed space into something brighter, more open but keeping the mid-century modern look and feel. By introducing additional windows and layering in carefully planned lighting, we were able to completely shift the atmosphere of the space.

We also reworked the layout to create more counter space, improving both flow and usability. With updated finishes, the kitchen now feels fresh, inviting, and seamlessly connected to the rest of the home. It’s a true testament to how thoughtful design can completely redefine a space.

When it comes to window treatments, the right layer can transform an entire room. It’s not just about privacy; it’s about how the light interacts with the space and how different textures build a sense of depth and warmth.

For many, a single curtain feels sufficient, but layering light, airy fabrics allows for a much more nuanced look. It creates a softness that shifts throughout the day, giving you control over both the atmosphere and the aesthetic.

I love working with , we select the perfect sheers and linens to create a balance between style and functionality at an affordable price.

When it comes to designing your own sofa, every detail matters. The height of the arms, the number of cushions, the feel of the seat, each element shapes how the piece looks and lives in your home.

Some clients prefer a softer, sink-in comfort, while others lean toward a firmer, more supportive feel. Americans often gravitate toward plush seating, while Israelis tend to prefer something more structured and resilient.

Together, we refine what works best, creating a sofa that feels both personal and considered. It’s about finding that balance between comfort, function, and form.

Morning: Where Every Project Begins

Reviewing materials, fabrics, and details, thinking through what will actually work for each client’s life.

Every project begins with understanding how a space needs to feel.

When it comes to fabrics, every client is different, some love a bold pattern, others prefer a soft block colour. Together, we refine what works best, whether it’s a statement chair or subtle touches like cushions.

It’s all about creating a balance that feels personal and considered. I love being part of a process where every detail comes together so thoughtfully.
