I have spent the last three years living in India, exploring the wonders of that fascinating country. I watched and learned various ancient crafts, such as the fashio
ning of beautiful hand-made copper kitchenware; old printing techniques (including block printing and batique); exquisite wooden furniture made from reclaimed wood, antique doors and windows. I became interested in photography whilst I was there, trying to capture the exhilaration that I experienced and the beauty that I saw. I wanted to take "India" back with me to Israel. Whilst the colors and vitality of India can be seen in my pictures, I felt that the only way to capture the dedication and patience of the craftsmen is through the furnishing themselves. And so the story begins with the birth of my company, The TiffinBox. The TiffinBox is a form of lunch box commonly used in India. As there is no refigeration in many places, the box keeps the food cool and separates the food items into layered compartments. My symbolic Tiffinbox is the container of wonderful treasures that I found over the last three years in India. These artifacts, just like photographs, each tell a story from the East that will enrich your living space.
