הזמנה מיוחדת מלקוחה.
כלי עם מכסה — גדול יותר מהגודל שאני בדרך כלל מכינה.

על האבניים,
אותו חימר ואותן ידיים,
רק קנה מידה קצת אחר.

עכשיו הוא מתייבש,
לפני שימשיך לשלוש השריפות בתנור.

A special order from a client.
A lidded vessel — larger than the size I usually make.

On the wheel,
same clay, same hands,
just a slightly different scale.

Now it’s drying
before its three firings in the kiln.

עוד שלב בדרך.

צד שני לספלי הטרקוטה,
ואז הידיות — נוצרת אחת אחת
ומתחברת לספל.

מכאן הם יישבו בשקט להתייבש
לפני השריפה הראשונה.

Another step in the process.

The second side of the terracotta mugs,
then the handles — made one by one
and attached to the mug.

From here they rest and dry
before the first firing.

יום לא שקט.
אזעקות. חדשות. רעש.

ואני מוצאת את עצמי שוב בסטודיו.

בורחת רגע לחומר,
לידיים שעובדות.

מתכננת את החג
מתוך כל הבלגן הזה.

כמה צלחות מצה כבר מוכנות.
בתקווה שעד פסח יהיה קצת יותר שקט.

Not a quiet day.
Sirens. News. Noise.

And I find myself back in the studio.

Escaping for a moment into clay,
into hands that keep working.

Planning the holiday
in the middle of all this.

A few matzah plates already made.
Hoping things will be a little quieter by Passover.
