Our design ideas are primarily people centric, environment sensitive and context specific. Our strive to achieve efficient design, reflects in various aspects such as cost sensitivity, environment consciousness, minimum wastage, use of local resources & techniques and climate responsiveness.

• The primary focus being, “to create enhanced spatial experiences”, stimulates us to not only explore alt

ernative materials and techniques, but also craft sensitive ways of using conventional materials to achieve the same.
• Discarding the redundancies in modern design trends, we believe in the idea of a derived functional aesthetic rather than plastered decorations.
• Regardless of the scale of the project. Every design decision is carefully taken to directly benefit the user and to cause less harm to the environment.

Say hello to .ok , an architect at our Mumbai studio. It’s been wonderful to see her grow through her time at Compartment S4, staying curious, asking questions, and finding new ways of looking at the work around her. From learning alongside mentors and colleagues to discovering the stories and details that make each project unique, Varsha has gradually found her own voice along the way.

“Somewhere along the way, I began looking for details and stories not just within the work I get to do, but everywhere outside it as well,” says Varsha.

The community center at Sawai Madhopur is focussed on skill development of local youth in computer, english speaking and tailoring. Apart from this the center will have versatile means to use for wildlife awareness programs, medical camps, and weekly medical clinics. The building uses local materials, enhancing and harvesting on the ever present skilled craftsmanship in Rajasthan.

Frame-O-One begins with a simple idea: the frame as a design language.

Frames become devices for defining views, layering spaces and creating moments of pause. This idea is carried into the material palette, where blue and grey squares create a rhythmic language across the flooring, contrasting with the earthy warmth of terracotta.

A composition of frames, colour and material, bringing the cafe’s name to life in every detail.

Six Yellow Circles | Restaurant Design | Gandhinagar

Eat Punjab creates a distinct spatial identity by translating its brand into material, colour, craft and experience. Across its outlets, elements such as terrazzo, mustard yellow, forest green, dark teak and handcrafted details establish a familiar visual language.

The Gandhinagar outlet builds on this vocabulary while introducing its own nuances. Cane, wood, brass, textiles and warm lighting come together to create a space that feels contemporary yet rooted in tradition. Rather than replicating a formula, the design allows the brand to evolve, adding a new chapter to Eat Punjab’s spatial story while keeping its identity instantly recognisable.

Six Yellow Circles | Restaurant Design | Gandhinagar

At the heart of every Eat Punjab outlet is the central communal table, an architectural anchor that brings together movement, dining and social interaction. Its linear form reflects the spirit of shared meals and Punjab’s culture of community and collective gatherings.

In Gandhinagar, the table is complemented by delicate cane elements woven into the ceiling and lighting design. Working alongside the warmth of wood and natural textures, the cane adds an airy, tactile quality to the space. The layered lighting transforms the central table into a visual focal point, creating a warm and intimate setting while retaining the openness of the communal dining experience.

Six Yellow Circles | Restaurant Design | Gandhinagar

Eat Punjab’s design language draws from Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, translating its colours, materials and craft traditions into a contemporary dining experience. At the Gandhinagar outlet, this cultural narrative is expressed through a collection of artworks created especially for the space.

Phulkari motifs woven on the loom by textile artist Aamras bring one of Punjab’s most recognisable textile traditions into the interiors. Desai’s mixed-media wall artworks combine embroidery, textiles, calligraphy and photo-embroidery to depict festivals and wedding celebrations from Punjab, creating layered compositions that celebrate its social and cultural traditions.

saloni jhaveri ‘s Kantha-embroidered textile panels offer an abstract interpretation of the fields of Punjab, translating its agricultural landscape into texture, pattern and stitch. Completing the collection, Compartment S4 created a wall installation using block-printed fabric and hand-carved wooden truck models, crafted with carpenter Amit Mistry ,referencing the colourful trucks and visual culture of the region.

Together, these works bring craft, memory and cultural storytelling into the dining experience, making the artwork an integral part of Eat Punjab’s spatial identity.

Shivananda Pause Park | Public Space | Bengaluru

The space beneath Shivananda Flyover on Harekrishna Road is transformed from a residual urban space into an active, inclusive public space.

Connecting Racecourse Road to Nehru Circle, the area sees a constant flow of students, office-goers, Racecourse visitors, and local residents.
The design creates a series of interactive zones using steps, parapets, swings, and seating, offering spaces to pause, meet, play, and interact. An interactive art wall and mosaic panels celebrating notable women of Karnataka bring a cultural layer to the thoroughfare.

Clearly defined pedestrian crossings, entry points, and green buffers improve safety and comfort, turning an overlooked space into a vibrant third space for the city.

Say hello to Honey Katoch, an architect at our Ahmedabad studio. From finding her way around the studio to finding her confidence on site, Honey’s journey at Compartment S4 has been one of learning, unlearning, and finding her own way. From carrying drawings to taking on more responsibility, every project has pushed her to grow, turning ideas on paper into something real, one detail at a time.

“Being part of Compartment S4 has been a journey of growth. From deadlines and drawings to the people, laughter, and little moments in between, it’s the everyday experiences that have made the journey truly special”, says Honey.
