Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Frank Gehry. I still remember hearing him speak while I was at RISD — that electric presence, the way his mind seemed to hum with ideas as he talked about reimagining the city of Los Angeles. He made you believe that architecture could be fearless, fluid, and emotionally alive.
I went on to visit several of his projects — in LA, Prague, and Spain — and each one felt like stepping into a world where rules were merely suggestions. Buildings that twisted, shimmered, challenged, invited. Spaces that taught me, again and again, that imagination is a valid material.
They don’t make them like him anymore.
A true original.
A force of nature who reshaped architecture as we know it — and quietly shaped the way I see and design the world.
