Growing up in Pune, Aayi always welcomed everyone with grace.
There was always a little extra food. “In case someone drops by”, she would say.
And someone usually did. Be it my uncle paying a surprise visit after work, or a friend who simply happened to be around when dinner was served. More was always merrier.
Years later, now that we live in Mumbai, every bit of space counts. Still, we believe in making room for people.
And then, the previous weekend, when the sudden monsoon rain came pouring down, my friends came over craving Aayi’s special masala chai and kanda bhaji. As the storm grew heavier outside, the guest count went up.
That’s when we knew it was time to expand our Aeris dining table from a 6-seater to an 8-seater - The table that adapts to the way we welcome.
