In a room, it doesn’t politely sit. It sprawls. Paws reach out, the tail wanders away and the dark sculptural legs recede beneath it like shadows. From above, it is almost an image. Walk around it and suddenly there is a tiger occupying the room.

Fragments of cool stone emerge from black like a cyanotype in fading light. Neela Ratri is that moment of dusk when things hover between appearing and disappearing.

The tiger may look like a memory. But the night hasn’t fallen yet.

What if a tiger hide refused to be a trophy? What if it looked back at you, teeth bared, very much alive?

Bagh Sandhara II | Neela Ratri plays with that contradiction. The body lies flat like a hide, while the face is fierce, alert and almost mischievous.

In a room, it doesn’t politely sit. It sprawls. Paws reach out, the tail wanders away and the dark sculptural legs recede beneath it like shadows. From above, it is almost an image. Walk around it and suddenly there is a tiger occupying the room.

Our studio was never built by two people.

It is held together by hands that stay back, shoulders that carry, families that believe before anyone else does, friends who keep showing up, and a team that turns impossible ideas into everyday work.

Grateful for the people who have become the backbone of this practice.

𝗔𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼. 𝗔 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆. 𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲.
Our campus is slowly filled with familiar faces. There was no itinerary to follow, no rush to keep. People wandered, lingered over objects, asked questions, shared stories, met the hands behind the work, and stayed longer than they had planned.

Conversations drifted between furniture, craft, rituals, materials, memory and making. Some gathered around the table, others by the water. A few simply found a quiet corner to sit. The breeze carried through the studio all afternoon, setting the curtains in motion and reminding us that spaces, much like people, come alive through presence.

Thank you to everyone who spent their Saturday with us—to those who travelled across the city, lingered a little longer, and made our workshop feel wonderfully alive.

And thank you to and for curating the Maker's Trail, and for nurturing a community that believes in slowing down, visiting studios, and meeting makers where the work begins.

Until the doors open again.
