The everyday grind builds tomorrow.

Take a step back in time with this vintage-inspired look at our traditional dyeing and steaming process. At CityLooms, crafting the perfect statement piece starts long before the weaving begins. Our dedicated artisans work tirelessly at our brick facility. They manually steam, dye, and treat the raw yarn on large metal wheels. This ensures the colors are rich and the fibers stay strong.

This is the raw, authentic hard work that goes into every single rug we make. We believe in preserving these demanding traditional methods because they deliver the best, most durable results for your home.

Achieving the perfect plush texture is an art form.

After our rugs are carefully hand-tufted, they go through a detailed leveling process. Our artisans use heavy-duty electric shears to shave down the top layer of the wool pile. This important step requires a steady hand. It creates a smooth and even surface and brings out the sharp definition of our custom-dyed colors and intricate patterns.

This blend of traditional craftsmanship and precise finishing makes a CityLooms piece special and durable.

Handmade with care, always.

At CityLooms, we believe the magic is in the details. After a rug leaves the loom, our artisans spend hours trimming, carving, and binding each piece by hand. They use traditional shears to shape the wool, making each intricate pattern stand out and ensuring a perfectly even, plush texture.

This dedication transforms beautiful yarn into a durable work of art for your home. When you shop with us, you support genuine craftsmanship and the amazing makers behind the scenes.

It’s the final touches that truly make a difference.

Once the weaving is complete, the journey continues. Our artisans spend hours carefully hand-finishing each CityLooms rug. They use large metal needles to secure and bind the edges, and they trim and carve the wool pile with traditional shears to achieve an even, plush texture. Nothing is left to chance.

This level of dedication and attention to detail ensures that your rug is not just a beautiful piece of decor but also a durable work of art built to last a lifetime.
