Let flowers leave their mark.

Join us for an afternoon of slowing down, experimenting with nature, and discovering the beautiful unpredictability of eco printing. Under Hiranakshi’s guidance, you’ll explore how leaves and flowers can leave their colours, forms and textures behind on fabric and create something uniquely yours.

Come curious, get your hands a little messy, and take home a piece made by you.

A morning of learning about Wetlands with Dr. Indra Gadhvi.

When we protect our wetlands, we protect biodiversity.
And ultimately, we protect ourselves.

23/08/2026

This morning, we explored Bor Talav with Dr. Indra Gadhvi, discovering that our wetlands hold far more than water..

His expertise helped shed light on how Bhavnagar was historically planned with remarkable vision, with a systematic water-management network that continues to shape the city today. But we also confronted the growing threats facing these precious ecosystems, unplanned urban development, littering and pollution.

From the richness of Bhavnagar’s aquatic life and bird species to the toxic impact of waste and certain religious offerings entering our lakes, the morning brought home an important truth: what we put into our water eventually comes back to us.

We also learnt that even seemingly harmless actions, such as feeding birds, can sometimes do more harm than good, disrupting natural feeding patterns and affecting their health.

Dr. Gadhvi reminded us that protecting our wetlands begins with something simple:
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

Our lakes are not empty spaces within our city. They are living ecosystems, natural heritage and essential to our own wellbeing.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, for a morning of walking, observing, appreciating, questioning and learning.

Every story we tell is made a little more special by the person behind the camera.

Today, on World Photography Day, we’re celebrating Kalpesh Parmar, who has been capturing the people, places, celebrations, heritage and everyday moments that make Bhavnagar Heritage what it is.

From grand landmarks to the little details that might otherwise go unnoticed, his photographs have helped us preserve not just what Bhavnagar looks like, but how it feels.

Thank you, Kalpeshbhai, for always being there behind the lens and for giving our stories a frame.

Happy World Photography Day!

To everyone who has subscribed, contributed, photographed, written, supported and believed in this little publication, thank you.

And if you haven’t subscribed yet, this is the perfect time to join us. Become part of the Bhavnagar Heritage community and receive every new edition as we continue telling the stories of our city.

A wonderful two days of charkha, learning and reconnecting with a living tradition with Avani Varia.

The charkha offers more than the learning of a skill. Its slow, rhythmic practice encourages mindfulness, brings the body and mind into sync, and creates a quiet space for focus, patience and reflection.

This Independence Day, a reminder to carry forward the values of self-reliance and dignity of labour, while offering lessons in sustainability and conscious living.
