🇮🇳Independence Day just went by. We celebrated freedom from the British, but have you ever stopped to ask yourself:
Are you truly free today?
As a crochet mentor and a business woman, I meet many students and customers who are constantly worried about Instagram followers, views, reels and algorithms. Some even reach a point where their self-worth and business confidence depend on a number on their screen.
But let me tell you something, I am not regular on Instagram!! ( you must have noticed!!) I post when I genuinely feel like posting. I don’t chase the algorithm, and I don’t lose sleep over followers. I take a lot of breaks in insta.!
Because followers don’t determine the success of your business.
I’ve seen businesses with fewer than 100 followers doing incredibly well in reality, while accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers struggle to get even a few orders.
And please remember: There is a difference between real and reel. Don’t compare your behind-the-scenes life with someone’s carefully edited 30-second video.
For me, my priorities are simple: my family, my children, my work, my peace and the moments I cherish. Not everything needs to be photographed, posted or shared.
I’ve also learned that privacy is a luxury and I enjoy that luxury. Some of my most beautiful memories don’t exist in my phone. They exist in my heart.
So this Independence
Ask yourself:
“Am I free from the pressure of social media?”
“Am I free from chasing followers?”
“Am I free from measuring my worth through likes and views?”
If Instagram disappeared tomorrow, would your life still have meaning?
I know mine would. Because Instagram is just a part of my life and not my entire life!!
So pause. Step away. Look around you.
There is a whole beautiful world beyond the screen. ❤️
Don’t let social media become your bo***ge. Choose freedom. 🇮🇳
